Do you know any other dev team that shuts down their servers overCchristmas? ......Even MO, the crappiest smallest dev team ever doesn't shut down the server for 2 days over chrismas. It just makes absolutely no business sense.

Leaving the servers on to crash and restart by themselves would probably just cause more damage when there's nobody to take care of them.

I honestly give the game 6months to a year and its right back to old DF 1 bs. Bugs greifing and exploits. ITs been said before and I'll say it again AV couldnt code there way out of a wet paper bag with a map and knife.

Id say its the simple lack of reading comprehension skills along with lots of whining that he is referring to when he talks about you being a "community destroyer".

Their post clearly states that due to the server issues, which have been causing the servers to crash unexpectedly and / or not come back up properly after maintenance, they are going to just keep the servers down for a couple days until they have a chance to fix the issue.

There is a problem with the servers and they were not going to spend Christmas trying to fix it. You act as if everything was running perfectly and they simply chose to not keep them open just for the hell of it.

Funniest part is you seem the type that if you were asked to work through Christams eve and Christmas day you would burst into teary fits of rage threatening to quit, complaining how much of a douche your boss is, etc. Yet you expect others to do it just to please you.

Personally whether there reasons are real or fake I don't have a problem with it. Everyone needs a break on Christmas to spend time with their family and friends. The world doesn't revolve around me and my video games.

They already attempted to fix the bug twuice, which was why we had 2 days of around 8 hour server downtime. they were attempting to fix it but caused other server issues rather than fixing it in the process.

This shit happens sometimes, even with what at 1st appears like it would be a minor fix. I used to dev for a game where we start working on an issue that seems simple to solve. You think you have it licked and bring the server back up only to find it had other unexpected results and you have to roll back all the changes and start over again. Sometimes it takes several attempts to get it worked out properly and sometimes while implementing the actual fix might only take a few hours, finding out that proper fix as well as not causing other issues along with it can take days or weeks.

You know MMOs take years to put together right? Why on earth do you think it only takes a day or 2 to work out every possible issue that might come up during testing?

try this approach. It has worked for me from day 1 of Darkfall 1.

ignore everything they say...literally everything.

log in, play, if you like, stay, if you dont, leave and come back later when you see some article posted here or on other MMO based sites. DONT read the article, just log back in and play.

You dont have to follow that to the letter more just the attitude of what i am saying...it works WAY better
