I have to admit that it brings me a smile that GW2 did not win. I'm not happy it lost because I think it is the most boring "mmo" I have ever played, its because of the insufferable fanboys of GW2. If this chases a few of them away, good riddence.
I'm going to go try Pirates101 now just to show my appreciation.

KingsIsle ruined the Quetzals into something so fake as a mythical snakes. I explain multiple times that Quetzals are bird species similar to Owls, Hawks and Eagles. Quetzals are also part of the Mayan culture and National symbol of Guatemala. Do they really care about other cultures and their players? Absolutely NOT. |

That company is a joke, they don’t respect other cultures and they don’t care about their players. Pirate101 doesn’t even close to the quality of Guild Wars 2."
As a player of both Wizard101 and Pirate101 I have found KingIsle to be a fantastic, helpful company that strives to please its fanbase. They are quick to answer questions in the forum and will be as helpful as they can and provide fans with various updates for new items and worlds, and will show the development as the game worlds are expanded and created. This isn't me being a fanboy; this is me observing a truly good company and game. |

THis is ther second time this company has done this, the also did on the front page with most anticipated game leading guild wars before its release by over 100k votes, as user of this site we have no say cause money talks.

I didn't vote for Pirate101 either, but for crying out loud... I can accept that the one I chose didn't win the category. What baffles me is how "personally offended" or "outraged" some people act over the whole thing. Is anything in your lives going to change because a game you don't like won, or because the game you voted for didn't? I mean really?
Talk about first world problems.

Oh my gosh. Every GW2 Fan that is complaining will you sit down for a moment and listen? Pirate101 is one of the most innovative games out there (Hence why people are surprised about it not winning Most Innovative). Pirate101 is also geared towards all ages with a start in FTP and then drifting over to payment gradualy. GW2 was 50$ at my local Walmart. That is outrageous to me. As someone from the outside looking in GW2 just seems to try to copy Wow (Don't hate me). However Pirate101 and Wizard101 are both innovative and there aren't many games like them on the market. Also, not saying GW2 isn't Familty Friendly. (Well yes it is but still...) but Pirate101 and Wizard101 are designed to be Family Friendly. So therefore you might have Dad playing GW2 but both the kids are playing Pirate101 and making him join in.
Let's face it. Pirate101 deserves this title and every butthurt GW2 fan can now go back to xp grinding, while we go battle magical creatures in a flying pirate ship. -TheStormedYouth |

I would like to say once again, congrats to all the winners and goodluck in your next awards. That aside, to the ones saying other games paid off their fan base to vote, instead of making false accusations and making yourself look like a child, actually do some investigation. (These comments happen every single time there is a vote, not just this win fyi) Check out the game. If you dont like it, other people do. Makes it no less better. Everyone has their own opinion. If you doubt that a community can rally for an upset win, check out said community. Look on the forums, twitter, facebook, blogs, fansites. Chances are, you will find that the game developers didnt pay them off. Listen to what the people that actually play the game have to say. And see just how strong and dedicated that community is. Still not convinced, sit down, and ask yourself wait. Why am I doing this for a game not winning an award? Is it really all that important? Its called sportsmanship people. Its the bashing types of comments that make your beloved game look bad. And sends new players to play the games you are bashing. Invite people to try and play your game with open arms, instead of trash talking other games. Makes me cringe to think of the types of communities that foster such behavior, and will keep me away from those games. I see evidence of some wonderful communties here on the forums. Those that support their games without bashing others, are the ones that I am most inclined to check out. :)
