Welcome to mmorpg.com cycle People overhype it, get disappointed then feel like they need to scream at every thread how bad the game is for them, but without the "for them" otherwise it would just fall into deaf ears "Some of the less objective people tend to be close-minded though and basically disregard any possible shortcomings that gw2 could have." |

while i stoped playing this game awhile ago cause it just bored me , i don't waste tons of time bashing it because that would be dumb. The people who waste tons of time ripping a game they don't like , vs. going and playing something they do like have a problem, i wouldn't waste too much time trying to sort it out. There is a lot of compulsive behavior with gamers that makes little sense, and its largely why the majority of people who play games never post cause they don't wanna get ripped on by some finatic over a 1st world leasure product , cause that seems nuts to them ....cause it is.......

If you see no good or you see no bad in a game, chances are you are bias. |

Why so many bashing? I blame so many fanbois ranting about a game as if its some holy graal. Blame the fanbois, its the same reason WoW gets bashed so much. I honestly feel the need to target down this game just because so many people say so many stupid things about the game that it just drives me to have to post up as a counter to some dillusional dreams fanbois have of this game. Yes I personally disliked this game, but even then I had the same feeling (even worst really) for The Secret World yet I still feel its a good game and has so much good for it. I couldn't manage more then a few hours but I have far more respect for that game then over this one. i just see to many flaws with this game that when I see a fanboi rant about how everyone is 'stupid' and the game is the best ever... god. I enjoy rift but I sure as hell could go on about its problems openly, with my bias not showing so blatently. |

Originally posted by Voicekrack Eh. If you had been here - or objectly remember- how things were before GW2 launched you'd have seen some pretty insane trolling from GW2 fans super hyped for their game trolling every game in the year leading up to it.
This is actually very very tame. Mostly I'd say because the game is B2P and does not raise the magnitude of outrage the same type of posters would've voiced had the title been P2P. Had GW2 launched as P2P the fireworks would light the world. Anyway. Gw2 fans did it to every other game before their game came out to light. So, what's the surprise. Gw2 is not a special snowflake. |

because its not MMO... while you leveling its single player RPG, if you want grind endgame dungeons it turns into Co-op RPG for 5 players same goes for small scale pvp and if you want "mass pvp" it turns into "which realm got more players zerging from one castle to another" so it's just normal "stick with masses and you will win it!" you will enjoy it for 2~4 months, if you stay there for longer time, you never played good game or you don't know how to value your precious free time... |

When (some of you) were younger and you gave your report card to your Mom, and even before she looked at it, you told her you didn't do very good .. was that bashing? No it was honesty. Want a nice understanding of life? Try Spirit Science: "The Human History" |

It's simple. Many are putting this game on a pedestal above all other games. This game is without a doubt a good leaning to great game but it certainly doesn't put it above anything else. Many bugs in game but people seem to shrug it off as "It happens in every game" (It does happen) but when any other game has the same bug or similar it gets bashed to death. Do I have to say again about arah gate getting stuck making you unable to enter arah dungeon for the whole weekend or more and this happens EVERY week.... Have you seen any complaint? Nope, if it was any other game I wouldn't be able to count the amount of hate threads about such a big issue that is still not fixed!!! That right there is what makes these bashing threads, rose tinted glasses fanboys that overlook any issue even if serious but bash other games repeatedly. |

Originally posted by bloodaxes I think that if it was a sub base game, Anet will work a lot harder on their current problems than sleeping on their job. Anet has probably already made their money from the sales and without subs we are all suckered already because we had already bought the game. I agree with you though there are many bugs thats been there since release!! thats 4months ago! Its wrong. |

Originally posted by Voicekrack Well it's an easy answer .....it's just a matter of numbers In 2006 there were 10 million players playing WOW and life was good ...fast forward to 2012 and this is what you get 3ook playing Eve 300k playing Rift 2.4 million playing WOW This leaves 7 million folks either playing GW2 ....not playing anything or as the vast majority around this site jumpiing back and forth from every piece of shit made since 2006 . Half the folks bashing GW2 can't play any game more then a month without losing intrest and jumping to the next great thing This mindset leaves you the bashers who can't find anything they like to play themselves but live by the motto" misery deserves company" and if they can't find anything to play and enjoy then nobody else should be having fun either

People will argue the definition of MMORPG forever, but I can say for certain that I grew bored with GW2 more quickly than any other "AAA" MMORPG I have ever played. |

Because there are enough people playing for it to still be talked about. Honestly, all the MMO community does it complain and fight amongst themselves anymore. You will never hear anything positive about an MMO these days as everything is drown out under mountains of people with a chip on their shoulder looking for any flaw no matter how trivial to shit all over the entire game. Same for if that flaw isn't immediately rectified an hour after posting, because, you know, development and feedback response doesn't take more than a few minutes right? This doesn't just go for GW2, this goes for the genre in general right now.

This website has a much larger hardcore crowd, and gw2 was made for casuals, which hardcores despise (what is funny casuals do not realize it). Gw2 represents a change in the genre of mmos, significant enough it shocked many hardcores at it is different from their common games. This isn't a bad thing, one just has to understand the different communities.

When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world. |
