Originally posted by TheScavenger I actually don't mind that for this type of game. If someone really wants to spend money on a gun and tons of ammo, more power to them since I can kill them and be armed to the teeth without spending a penny in the shop. I'd probably have a player with a vendetta against me, but that's the nature of full loot pvp. |

Any self-respecting adult will wait for DayZ standalone. This is a disgrace made by liars.

I like in dayz that yu can make fires, kill animals for food, etc... Warz just another shooter and loot game from what i have read. Anyone care to enlighten me? I like an indepth game, which of these 2 are more indepth with lots of features/actions to do (collect water from a well not a bottle, kill and cook food, etc...) I want one, but honestly after reading all this i dont know if i should. |

Of course DayZ was better. It was a unique idea and a good implementation, considering the limitations faced by it being a mod. WarZ on the other hand was created in just a few months as an attempt to cash in on Rocket's success with the mod. Whilst I'm not a fanboy (I don't even play DayZ any more), I'm almost certain that the DayZ standalone will wipe this off the map. Why? Better organisation, better funding, better developers and an actual passion for the genre. |

Just a crappy studio trying to quickly capitolize on someone else's success. (read DayZ's success) Craptastic game, from a studio that puts out utter garbage. Nothing more, nothing less.

Apparently there a whole shitstorm heading their way because they lie on their steam page
400 sqkm maps - nope 50 100 player servers - nope 50 Normal and hardcore mode - nope just normal Private and public servers - nope just public. Then you have all the zynga like behaviour of copying dayz |

Question to anyone that has played any of these zombie survival games - Is food essential? I.E. if you don't find food and drink can you die?
Because to me, if you are making a survival game then that is kind of a huge chunk of the game, finding resources to stay alive. Sure you want weapons to procect yourself from the zombies and other hostile players but essentially without a base survival mechanism you could find a hole and live forever...hardly a survival game... So do these games have that requirement? |

I came close to dropping cash on this one, glad I didn't.

I think you should take a look at TotalBiscuit's 'review' of the game before you decide to buy it:

Originally posted by Maelwydd DayZ does, I haven't played WarZ so I can't say if it does. You have to have food and water. For awhile there you had to keep warm or you'd get sick, but they toned down that aspect. |

Valve removed it from Steam now. They refund anyone who asks for it. http://kotaku.com/5969836/the-war-z-removed-from-steam?tag=warz http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/12/19/the-war-z-yanked-from-steam-valve-apologizes/ Edit: Ha I see Derros already posted it but anyway the links are still good information. |
