Originally posted by Teala I dunno, my non-braindead logic center tells me that if they're opening what was previously a "release" game onto a "beta server" in a "beta state" they plan to fix and change the game.. which probably also means those exploits and broken things you are talking about.
The corpse is fresh out of the ground. At least give them some time to pretty up before you hack it apart. |

This is really awesome! I had a lot of fun in this game and I can not wait to have fun again. Turbine has done a really great thing here.

The graphics were state of the art for the time, and combat was great fun, very dark atmosphere, tough combat

I'll admit I'm very tempted to sub and had a great time in AC2 when it released.. for a while.
That said, sandbox? LOL. |

Originally posted by adam_nox No, it's free for AC1 subscribers. Now, I personally have never been a fan of the game, but I am absolutely overjoyed to see one of the lost titles that had a sizable following resurrected for its fans. filmoret: One thing I have never figured out is why the game devs hardly ever fix simple problems that arise. It is like they don't care about the pvp community. Nitth: What makes you so sure its a simple fix? filmoret: Because most of them are. Sometimes its just changing a number in a code string other times its creating a few variables. However none of them should take over a few hours of coding. |

Originally posted by sevitoth Judging from alot of posts in the thread it almost sounds like Turbine was more interested in getting people to buy/sub to AC1 and just threw in AC2 to sweeten the deal....I actually thought that AC1 would end up f2p at some point, but this will probably be their alternative to that. |

There is one good thing that came from AC2. The creation of the Tumerok race and lore. No game before or since has ever created something so cool. That is the one and only thing I think I miss from AC2. The uniqueness of this whole race in the game, from the looks to the lore, has never been duplicated in such a manner in any game. Just awesome.

Holy crap!
Honestly it wasn't a very good game but ...
Holy crap!
I'm curious to what brought this about. Hype for a new AC game announcement in the near future?
PLLLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSE!
What could be happening is they may have decided throwing team on it for development was worth it seeing a cash shop would be added under their model eventually. More content in that game could bring it back to life. |

Originally posted by sevitoth Well, story/quest NPCs.. but no vendors, etc.
I kind of assume that, if interest in the game warrants it, we can expect to see improvements to it over time. |

Originally posted by elocke I've been far more disappointed with the new games than the old ones for countless reasons. The bar has been raised for the newer MMO's regarding polish/graphics, but not for design.
Just bought AC1, think I'll DL that as well. Although AC1 makes EQ look highly polished with top of the line graphics. For AC2 if they fix the exploits and throw in an NPC or two, I'm hopeful. This may be a brilliant move by Turbine. |

Originally posted by Teala It wasn't the same mess it was at launch when they took it offline. It was greatly improved by then. By that time, they'd released a full expansion (which is accounted for in the re-release), and had fixed it up into a very solid game. It was just too late and they weren't able to get enough interest back in it. You make it sound like they released the game in 2002, did nothing with it for 3 years and then took it offline. |

Originally posted by DrunkWolf I level capped a Tumerok spear thrower when it launched. I agree ... they are about one the coolest race ever introduced in a game. Was great to play one in AC2.
Also I hope the put a little development into it as the skill trees were horrible. |
