OMG I wanted to buy this game and so I went on multiple forums and watched the few early gameplay videos they released, I found out that the developers were the same ones who made War Inc and that the backbone of War Z was built off that games engine and then I purchased said game and found out that...wow my research paid off and I got exactly what I paid for.

Opinions are fun! Facts are boring!

First off asking someone to PAY to test your alpha code is beyond rude.  This game is basically a scam to separate you your money into their pockets.

Right and you obviously have not played the game then or are oblivious to what a hacker looks like, hackers are everywhere in this game.

No one made you buy it. They stated it was in alpha up front. How is it a scam when they are upfront about it?

Since when is "asking" someone...being rude? [mod edit]. Hammerpoint Interactive didnt "ask" anyone anything...they flat out TOLD you...Hey we are selling copies of our unfinished game, if you would like to purchase one and help us test the game out then pull up your big boy pants and make the purchase, if not then good luck to you and maybe we will see you at launch....no scam, END OF STORY!

Time to grow up boy and girls, you are the masters of your own destiny!

As far as hackers are concerned...OF COURSE THERE ARE HACKERS...its a multiplayer game isnt it? My buddy and I got taken out by one today, massive aimbot and ESP hacker. Did we stop playing? No we loaded a new character and off we went on another post-apocalyptic adventure because the truth of the matter is more often than not we don't run into hackers on a daily basis....just like EVERY OTHER MULTIPLAYER GAME OUT THERE.

Well considering the negative impact the devs have on the game, deleting hacking threads instantly, banning people for posting those threads, calling people "fag", and spawning weapons/god mode for their friends, yeah , no intention of ever supporting a studio with those traits. First impressions mean everything, these guys just screwed themselves big time, and also stating that the game is the first of its kind and further stating that dayz is a rip off of their game? Come on! Plus on top of that, they used the conduct policies from league of legends , how the hell do people trust these guys? They don't give a rats ass about their customers, all these assholes want is to bank on a shitty product and when this mess of a game is done, they'll drop support for it and laugh their way to the bank.
Watch rhino crunches take on it, he uncovered a lot of interesting facts!

Sorry for my rant but it had to be said , don't support companies they don't give a shit about their consumers!

Here we are, paid beta and still the only thing to do in this game is shoot zombies which have very limited AI or shoot players.  I dont see much difference between Alpha and Beta except now I get a little bigger map and I can pay more money to be in a clan since slots cost real dollars.  Thats right folks, if you want more than 20 people in your clan, it cost real money to add slots.

Not even "close to alpha"? What is "close to alpha"??

Alpha testing

Alpha testing is simulated or actual operational testing by potential users/customers or an independent test team at the developers' site. Alpha testing is often employed for off-the-shelf software as a form of internal acceptance testing, before the software goes to beta testing.[34]

Beta testing

Beta testing comes after alpha testing and can be considered a form of external user acceptance testing. Versions of the software, known as beta versions, are released to a limited audience outside of the programming team. The software is released to groups of people so that further testing can ensure the product has few faults or bugs. Sometimes, beta versions are made available to the open public to increase the feedback field to a maximal number of future users.

Alpha test stage means it is as yet untested and unaccepted UNTIL the stage finishes. Doesn't mean it is playable at all...

So that's what you are paying for and I think they are pretty clear on that.

I think a lot of people just don't know what the different stages of testing means...

That's said I'm not saying WarZ did a good job as all. Just that your entire perception of of testing stages is wrong in terms of Software Development Lifecycle REGARDLESS of whether they did a good job or not.

Exactly.  I bought it, thought it was rough and wnet away for a bit.  The beauty of mmo's/fpsmmo's they change, come back in a few weeks/months they are different, usually better.

You realize that what you're saying isn't exaclty... intelligent, right? Not every developer has an endless stream of income, and maybe you should think of this as a "Kickstarter" sort of deal.

The developers never pretended to sell a full game and then dump an Alpha version onto you. If you paid for it, you should have fully realized what you were paying for before you separated you money from your pocket. Maybe next time try not separating your money from your mind and you'll make better decisions.

New Playable Area – final section of the “Colorado” game world opened up, increasing current map size by 50 percent

This is a blatant lie, the final part of the "whole" map was about 1/3rd of the original first 1/3rd

The "final piece" added roughly 10% to the previous map

Currently playing: -

Waiting for: Class4.

Dead and Buried: ESO, NWO, GW2, SWTOR, Darkfall, AO, AC2, Vanguard, CoH/V, EnB, EVE, Neocron, FE, EQ, EQ2, DAoC, FFXI, FFXIV, SWG, WoW, and billions of eastern junks!

Not only is it rude, it is downright insulting to ask anyone to pay to alpha test anything!  If you cannot figure out what a scam this game is, I feel sorry for you.

I don't know what multiplayer games you play, but hackers are very few and far between in games I play and they get banned as soon as someone sees them hack.

You people did not pay for an alpha, you preordered the finished game and were given the privledge to play the alpha of the game. Normally we do not get access to such testing so when it comes down to it maybe those who dont like it should stop playing until the game actually releases then complain if it doesnt live up to the hype.

This statement is beyond annoying..

Do you just throw rational arguments out the window? You were -told- what you were buying. If you didn't want to, you didn't have to. It's a pre-order that allows you to alpha/beta test as well. End of story. If you found it wasn't to your liking, you can..

A.) Stop playing and move on.

B.) Wait it out until it's more to your liking.

There's no reason for you to spew this illogical drivel.

There's no scam here. A SCAM is something you get tricked into, they present you with EVERYTHING you could possibly want to know before you buy it.

And secondly, I want to know what "multiplayer" games you're playing where you don't run into hackers? CoD? BF3? Arma? It's almost like you're trolling by accident.

I'm all for your definition but you realize the game is now in beta and is almost exactly the same as the supposed alpha.  My understanding is they are also trying to have this game listed on steam by Christmas or shortly after which means a "released" state.  It does not matter what phase you call it, there is nothing to do in this game but shoot other players.  It is war inc with poor-AI zombies that dont really affect gameplay.

My point is, it doesnt matter what you call the current version, it is a long way from a finished product and yet you have to pay to play it AND have to pay for clan slots.  They have also stated that weapon and ammo spawns will be decreased but you can always buy ammo with real money from their store NOW and you could in alpha.  I would also like to point out that NO WHERE in your definitions of alpha or beta did I find mention that testers are classified as paying customers who have to purchase the game or buy clan slots and ammo in order to test.

Yes you are correct however the problem is they didn't guarrantee quality though - in fact by selling alpha access they have assured the buyer that the quality won't be good.

All they guaranteed was early access - and they did provided that.

So that's why a lot of people here was saying you can't really debate them on that point because they have specifically stated the users was paying for early access, not quality.

If that is the premise, they really hasn't don't anything unethical.

yes they did sell an alpha. normally people would have a right to be upset. however they stressed it before they even sold it THIS WAS ALPHA. so if anyone was upset after they bought it obviously didn't do much reading before they did so.

First off asking someone to PAY to test your alpha code is beyond rude.  This game is basically a scam to separate you your money into their pockets.

"Its a fun game. not found a hacker yet.'

Right and you obviously have not played the game then or are oblivious to what a hacker looks like, hackers are everywhere in this game.

Not only is it rude, it is downright insulting to ask anyone to pay to alpha test anything!  If you cannot figure out what a scam this game is, I feel sorry for you.

I don't know what multiplayer games you play, but hackers are very few and far between in games I play and they get banned as soon as someone sees them hack.

ok the guy above me posted mostly fps mmos. now for the real question. name me one mmorpg/fps on this planet that has 0 hackers. im just curious so i can go play those games and laugh realy hard. now if ur refferering to any blizz game that deletes/takes action against hackers... u must be playing on a server with 10 ppl on it. if ur not playing blizz games then ur prolly just playing lan games with ur buddy at home.
