Lets pretend that all MMORPGs on the market are completely free to play going forward.  No box price, no subscription fees, no cash shop, no advertisements... no monetization period.  What MMORPG would you play as your main game?  For the purpose of this poll, main game means the one in which you spend the most time playing on weekly basis.  I'm simply curious what game people on this site feel would entertain them the most if money was not a consideration.

Since there are only 10 options in a poll, I tried to include the most popular games (according to this site).  If you select 'Other', please feel free to include your game choice in a reply to the thread.

Probably Ultima Online. The game is a shell of it's former greatness, but I would still play it. It's just not worth a subscription in it's current state.

All the MMOs I play, except rift since my sub hasn't expired yet, are free or b2p (corrected my original post).  I might play some of those games if they were F2P or B2P, but I wouldn't specifically single any one out as being more preferable to what I can play right now.  I do play GW2 and EQ2 now.  I don't need my games to be 100% "FREE", just F2P as in "no subscription".

I would probably keep rift on my system and I'm not sure about the others.  I might install TSW because a modern gothic style game sounds interesting.

Probably none.  I don't care if its' f2p or p2p I just care if it's fun.

I've played most of those games and left, making them f2p would not change why I left them.  They just ceased to entertain me.  The ones I didn't just didn't have anything to interest me. 

You forgot to put in a NONE option.  I hate f2p games, I hate the buying of power whether its weapons or experience or some new clever marketing scam.  I hate that the entire game revolves around trying to get you to spend money.  Lastly I hate that not everybody is on a level playing field.  I will gladly pay $15 a month to have full access and a level playing field in a good game.

So yeah...... F playing f2p games period they all suck.

If all MMOs are F2P, why don't i just play each a little and see what i like, and decide what i play depends on my mood.

As i think about your question, i can't think of any released mmorpg that i actually want to play. I then realized that the sub or box barrier is actually not a problem for me to play a mmorpg. Well, if the future mmorpg are all completely free, i will, of course, try all of them.

I'll go by the list:

WoW-you can Already play it for free. But I am not interested. Bland classes/bland world(that is a Warhammer ripoff no less!)/outdated Graphics... Played it as p2p/played it for free and no improvement...

Rift I played through all betas and for a month on launch. I never could quite get over the fact who you actually ARE in Rift(resurrected/cloned person-undead in other words) and it ruined everything. I love the rest Btw, so it could be Rift...

Guild Wars 2 I will never play because ArenaNet flatout lied to me. Plus it isn't GuildWars in anything but names(of the product/of races...).

SWTOR does not interest me in the slight. Being a Trekkie, it being sucky/not finished the only good thing is the companion system /stories(both of those you can get in Skyrim LoL-and in better quality).

Aion is a nice game. Nice classes. Nice Graphics. After it's been updated for the western world that is!  It'd be either #1 or #2 in the list if it were not f2p as it is(that one came out of blue sky and I am still shocked that such a quality game is basically 95% free while stuff Like Warhammer Online are still p2p).

LoTR:O does not interest me. I played it and it has horrible combat/engine. Everything else is lovely.

Warhammer Online is High up the list, but only because I love the Artwork/classes/IP and I want to finish all 6 stories(well 5 truth be told-damn them damned Druchii!). Nice writing as well. Nice PvP to boot.

I think I'll go with War because then the rest of my Life would begin(no, I am not paying them to further destroy our fabled IP). Rift takes it's place if someone explained to me some other views on Rift's Main character(i.e. him not being undead). Aion is voided because it Already is p2p...
