Yep, I agree. One of the reasons why it will take time. They are not going to rush with it.

 

No hate there, a reasonable comment. Can SWTOR afford for it take that time? Wait too long, the game becomes dead and then plug is pulled

That is what happened with SWG and atmospheric flight

With SWTORs attention span, it only has about 3 months.of its current population boom from F2P, then it will start becoming deader than it has ever been.

Makeb coming soon. Ilum revamp coming in Feb-March.

I do not think that they should rush with this project. Heck, all of you stated that game was rushed. If they would release it before it's ready, the screaming on these forums would be expotential.

No matter how far it is - porbably next expansion as somebody said, it's far better then it does not exist as most of you imposed not so long ago,

The game should not have been rushed, as people would have waited, but no one is going to wait for this now. People have been let down too much on this game already since launch, so not going to hang around for another black eye. There is not enougbh details, all he says is it is different, I am sure they said the thing about the Heroic missions. There is no mention of it being multiplayer or even like EVE/SWG/STO.

If it is what we think it is, and it gets added ASAP, and even if it is messed up, then they can patch it. Even if it is a buugy version of something like JTL then it will be more fun than what is in atm.

Even if you are worth 20 subs, that is not enough. I literally was worth about 100s subs in SWG, and that did not save it.

 

They did not give any details, so any speculations are pointless. 

With Makeb coming soon there will be plenty to do for a while, and regular content updates will keep people in game.

Sure not as many as space project would bring but I bet that people who are subbed right now will be still subbed.

I disagree. I actually think it can go both ways as we can see on this forum. Some people here still think that SP is a BS because of no details.

BioWare is not really very good in giving out information about future content. Look at Makeb... or Ilum. They both are coming very soon and we have very little information about it.

I think that they want to surprise people, but sometimes they really go overboard with the secrecy.

Ah yes, you are excited (bless you), but there are no details about the project, and the only way to know it is awesome is to believe Jeff Hickman.  Say what?

 

The fact that the space project is far away is not very encouraging.  It basically means it's perhaps just a very basic alpha, with no real functionality, other than perhaps steering.  Likely no multiplayer support, and no plan on how to incorporate a UI or graphics for the features fans want.

 

It sounds like EA is just stringing everyone along, having fans speculate as to the awesome features the space project will have.  Let me speculate with you then.  It will be space with walls.  Think about this for a minute and you might realize it to be true.  Imagine this:

 

 

How about exhaustion points in space .. yep.. I can see that too.  SWTOR can only hold fixed map sizes, and I really doubt EA would develop WoW technology just for 1 patch ...  they are way too cheap.  Everything thus far that EA has done was to maximize profits with the lowest possible amount spent.  Why would the space project be any different?

It's just a cheap way of marketing. Very unlikely to be out unless the game turns around way before it's released. Probably gonna be something very limited if it even gets released. They haven't surprised in a positive way for this game even once, it's just a bunch of bigger and smaller failures.

Jeff Hickman... should scare even the most hardcore fan of this game.

Maybe their going to dump the Hero Engine, and 'borrow' the one that SOE is using for their games. Still think that most of the games problems/limitations can be laid at the door of the Hero Engine, and is why the space game is single player only. Perhaps the only way they can overcome that, and also why its going to take such a long time, is because their not going to be using the Hero Engine

the point with interviews of bioware / ea / Swtor was, that the information who came from that studio was so vague.

 

It does exist, where? in their mind, on a paper.

 

I dont believe anything about swtor until its getting online. There were so many pomises done and broken. so many misleading answers, and 95% of the spoken was just hyping.

 

So it does exist, really great, but will we see it before i am old and greyhaired?

The new space content will bring in / back a few people, but those of us that hate the restrictive ground exploration will not stay for the space alone.

And...a lot of people hate that the alt replayability get old fast. The same old cut scenes for your alt is annoying at best.

I am not hating...I want it to do well. I am just bummed that they didn't listen to fan input during development.

We are close to 12 months since release.

 

I swear, I have been saying "This game has potential" for the entire year.

 

Not anymore. By now all my optimism has been crushed by the reality of 12 months of disappointments, that includes this pseudo announcement of "don´t expect anything anytime soon"

 

Their only chance was to release this BEFORE Star Cititzen, Elite, Stars of Barathrum and a bunch of others who finally realized the market for space sim MMOs exists.

 

Opportunity missed, bye bye.

Gonna pledge some more for SC and Elite.

I remember SOE putting on a showcase about such stuff in SWG, even 'ingame footage/movies' about it...everyone excited.....

turned out to be a SOE hoax.

 

with that experience, about 'future content', I believe it when I see it first hand on a Live server in any MMO.

Well, color me surprised. I wonder if it'll be like Dust 514, where it's a separate game, but that interacts with the main game, or if it's going to be integrated in with the main game itself.

I also can't help but wonder if there will be ships bouncing off the ground over Tatooine while people try to figure out how to land their ships. Then I continue to wonder if there will be ships just hanging there at odd angles as players give up on trying to land because they can't.

It seems like the kind of thing where it's possible it could just be a way to travel between quest points, or where it's a whole game in itself.

For every large, complex problem, there is a simple, clear solution that also happens to be absolutely wrong.

Problem in here is that people are now expecting something like JTL,but if they could do something like that with HeroEngine then there would be atleast playable demos of games where you could do something like 6dof IF that  engine is capable of doing such things,but because there isnt,well it might not be even possible.

Their super space combat might mean anything,like Spacerangers 2 or FTL like ,nobody knows,but one thing is for sure,it only can get better than what it is now,everything is "super" compared to that.

I see what you are saying. I was talking about the whole game, not just space. You definitely bring up a good point about no space examples being available.

I see what you are saying. I was talking about the whole game, not just space. You definitely bring up a good point about no space examples being available.

Considering yesterday they annouced heroic space missins, I think that is what the secret space stuff was.  Just more space on rails.  Honestly if they could do JTL type of stuf they would hae already done it.  I really dont expect much unless they are going to have some sort of multi person space battle. 

Still considering the stuff the given for content, and how lite that was, the fact they missed 6 week suposed upates like they said they were going to do.  I really don't expect great things.

So far I seen nothing that will make me resub back up.
