Sarcasm aside, I'd still consider playing again... IF they un-nerf operatives and make them useful for something other than healing again. Otherwise, they can kiss my ass.

Nah, I still wouldn't go back. Screw you EA.

Just play another class and stop being butthurt about Operatives. Every MMO either buffss nor nerfs certain classes. I think that's your only problem with EA.

Cosmetic yes but its a basic UI function for years. Adn the rediuced XP is an issue and im not subbing cause of it.

Playing: Archeage Alpha, World of Warcraft, and Diablo 3
Waiting on: Archeage, Everquest Next and The Black Desert

Smart move.  Shows the fanboy defenders that they were defending something indefensible.

Now they have to fix the locked quest rewards and maybe I'll give the game a third chance.

I have no idea how bad the XP nerf feels as I didn't get that far.  But I'm guessing 25% can definitely get in the way if you skip a lot of mobs.

If you call that listening then they are very selective listeners.

Really though, of course they are listening it is just a matter of what action they take makes them more money. Restricting UI and nobody is willing to pay for it? Then they give it away at a lower entry fee. What about the countless threads on the official forums with people being irate that they had to resub in order to receive Cartel Coins? Either selectively ignoring or not profitable to comply. Ok, it could be both.

Let's build the ultimate MMO 1 feature at a time

After finding out this news, I decided to give SWTOR one last try.

So, I  installed from my cd's, got all patched up, it got hung up on installing the patches.

Apparently I cannot install the game from the discs that I bought. Thats all it took for me to uninstall.

Do they really expect me to download 20 something gigabytes just to play? I bought the discs for a reason, because I want to save time. Unimpressive Bioware, I think i'll go play something else instead.

You stuck on installing assests? That happened to me and all i had to do was restart the patcher.

I tried that as well.  It loaded the patcher, and never did anything once I pressed the log-in button. =/

I hit 17 and the grinds starting to hit now. Extra hours grinding mobs to make up for the XP that I didn't get doing quests. The normal amount of quickbars will be nice, but I've already cut back on my play time.

Last couple of nights I was in a WoW daze just grinding...it was horrible...

There are way to many restrictins in SWTOR's FTP for me even to list.

The one thing I'm "OK" with is the added XP grind. The game is too ez to level anyway. It wouldn't even be listed if Bioware didn't add the XP grind in such a garish fashion. They both increased sub XP gain, and reduced FTP XP gain (including rest XP) AND offered XP boosts on the cartel shop.

The easiest solution is simple. Let mobs drop cartel coins as random loot. It would kill so many birds with a single stone.

I'm not sure if the "Monetization Officer" can overcome their spreadsheet greed to see this though.

All who complaine about reduced xp - just trolling. Xp reduced but not that much to grind the lvl.

Not all classes and playstyles are the same my friend.

My main on release was a Sith Assasin.  One of those classes that can sneak by mobs and go to the quests fast.  I fell behind a couple levels with ease and needed to run space missions and PVP to catch up.  The idea that exp would be cut another 25% means I would have had a LOT of issues in falling behind.

If any, it's a proof that F2P turned out alot more horrible than they thought. Population peaked last sunday and has been dropping since. I think a very small percentage of new players are gonna put up with F2P for long and retention from returning players is gonna be even lower.

Wow how this game has fallen from grace. Free hotbars being an example of the news associated to this ggame nowadays. Sad really.

You are correct. (IMO) To say Bioware is listening to their fans should be ammended to Bioware is listening to their potential customers' wallets.

There has been weeks of people complaining that the FTP UI restrictions were overstepping. A money grab of unprecedented greed. Bioware's response was to decrease the UI restriction from 1 bar to 2.

Now, with over a week's metrics to analyze, Bioware, in all likelihood, is seeing that both prefered and FTP players are just not willing as a whole to pay for UI unlocks.

That combined with a 12% drop off in 1 week's population from Sunday to Sunday (based on that unmentionable metric) and voila, an easing of the UI restrictions.

Its better to be quiet and perceived as stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Probably the best thing they've done since going F2P considering limiting the players' UI was the most hilarious thing in the first place.

Nature without Technology is little more than animals running about.
Nature without Magic is without wonder or miracle.
.........
Magic without Technology is fantasy.
Magic without Nature is formless and useless.
.........
Technology without Nature is application without understanding.
Technology without Magic is repetitious and uninventive.

Ok the F2P model is lacking, maybee even lacking alot. but the biggest thingI have a problem with is the fact that for all the money I had put into the game some random person can just spend 5 dollars and have all the saem stuff as me. where I have to pay 15 to get some worthless coins? where is the incentive for all of the subscribers that left beacuse the game was lacking. I am not wanting a ton of freebies but dammit where is the customer loyalty. by the next patch I will have to pay just to have accesss to charachters that I had created forever ago. I see no logic there. I mean hell give us an incentive to come back maybee give you 15 dollars one more time for alot more than soem crapy items. I would sebtle for anything I like the tool bars but that is something cheap that again any body can pay $5 and recive now what would be nice would be the ability to use purples on all my character with  having to pay for soem little stupid thing. I would pay to have more slots, take hits on ability to do operations and flashpoints. but what the hell am I supposed to do if I have to equip halfassed gear, the story lines can get a little hard and without good gear what can I do? (I dont know if this restricts purples from quests too, set gear I would be ok with but every purple is a little extreame.)

Am I th only person who feel betrayed by Bioware?

Lol. I love this argument! I bought something that was pay to play before! Now that the game is free, I want everything like it was. FOR FREE!!!!!!

Also, how much did they reduce XP by.  By doing an instance or two (daily) and PvP (daily), I pretty much have green/gray quests all the time.  Reduced XP prolly put it where it was before, where doing quests let you keep pace, rather than put you so far ahead like I am.  I have done 4 planets of just my class quest so far.  About to be a 5th, just because I am so far ahead.  I wouldn't mind reduced XP.
