What a bunch of hogwash.  Try typing "Nexon" in Urban Dictionary and see how many "Nexon is a great company" results you get.  I'll save you the trouble.  None.  They are just like, if not worse than EA.  They are going to ruin the MMORPG industry with their P2W cash shops, treadmills, and their overall greed. Mark my words. 

To the topic of the GW2 forums.  I challenge anyone to post anything that does not agree with the recent change to post on their forum.  Those moderators are not only heavy-handed, they are abusive in their authority.  I have seen posts deleted for simply +1 other threads.  It can be as benign as simply disagreeing with another poster who sucked up to Anet.  It is unfathonable what is going on in those forums.  Bans are being dished out left and right at an alarming rate to decent paying customers who are simply voicing their displeasure, in a reasonably respectable manner, regarding recent changes.  Those of you posting in disbelief and attempting to defend Anet have no idea.  Stop defending this company.  They do not deserve it.  I, for one, will never spend another penny on anything with the names "Arena Net," "Nexon," or NCSoft" attached to them.

Glad botrytis is the last person left defending GW2 and this company management is getting the heat it deserves.

I was banned twice and i've had a topic locked/deleted under "trolling" when it was about 2000 words and provided suggestions to make WvW better.

Is their WvW so good that me stating it has an un-countable number of flaws considered trolling to them? Can they not fathom that their game has problems?

If the OP did get that post deleted then it's bad. The post clearly shows they don't really know if the GW2 team is different for anyone that can actually read english. It was used as a way to exaggerate their point.. a way of saying 'this isn't the same game anymore'

There is no free speech on forums, they are private entities not run by the government.  I promise, the government isn't going to prosecute him for calling out anet.

In my opinion the post is not a good reason the ban someone from the forums. biggarfoot, try to appeal. I'm not sure if it'll help, but it doesn't hurt to try. 

In the last 1/2 of the year, it seems there's been a paradigm shift inside the company, at least on some level, and it's gradually becoming more evident. The conceptual changes certainly don't look for the better to me, but if it's true that these changes are a consequence of the staff/investors' change, nothing good can come from hiding it. 

Good reputation is hard to build, easy to lose, and extremely hard to regain once it's lost. 

I'm not particularly optimistic about the current direction of the game, and the communication between the company and its customers.

Basically if you appeal given the link to an email (that you get with your infraction) you recieve a return email 10 minutes later with a link to NCSoft's support system and not ArenaNets. Difference being ArenaNet seems to usually respond within 24 hours - NCSoft: Somewhere between a week and infinity!

When someone said Thanks ArenaNet (Was in the title but I doubt he got an infration) and proceeded to explain that he realized that ArenaNet were the developers behind CoX.

It was a complete surprise to me and I responded: What???

And OFC I promptly recieved an infraction...

And YES: What??? is worthy of an infraction on GW2 Forums... Talk about sensitive!

You seem to have overlooked the moderator's reply, that your comment "What?" was basically useless and off topic, and yes, such comments are moderated regularly on official company forums, which is why I normally hang around here instead.

Read the CoC before complaining.

Hmm no. I saw the reason and it is their forum = their rules.

However I would probably also respond with: What? if someone in the WoW forums thanked the Blizzard team for giving us SWG.

If I was banned for that, I would just do like I did with this: Have a few laughs and shrug it off ;-)

I got an infraction for each of these posts on their forum. It really does seem like they pick out people that they think are "bad" and just randomly infract them, either that or their mods can't speak english, some suggested that one too. That if they can't speak english then they just delete and infract anything because someone reports it.

I was pretty impressed with the teamwork we had last night. Garrison being attacked by both sides by both competing
servers, one even got into inner gates. We demolished all of them then took out the tower trebbing us and repaired
all 4 damaged spots. If only we could keep our own team from taking the 395 supply that had built up lol Everyday
we have to go through WHY you want to leave supply in areas that need it. In time, I think everyone will know if
we keep explaining.

At one point someone saw 8+ golems being built in the South, I never did hear what happened to them.

It also resulted in an infraction, now, you can see that the person still has no responses and bumped it
themselves but haven't received an infraction - it's inconsistent when it happens even though "bumping" is in the code of conduct as an offense.

Another time I posted the 50th post in a thread because at 49 they can disappear and we were talking about pvp
back and forth, someone accused me of trying to "bury the conversation" even though I explained it to them.
That was an infraction for posting the 50th post trying to explain why I posted it. My guess is that the person reported it because until I explained the forum bug they thought I was "burying" our convo.

You are not the only one who was infracted for sharing thoughts, pointing out what u dont like etc, They just don't like bad opinions. If u wrote u love the game and ArenaNet, the topic would still float there. As much as i like the game (well after introducing Ascended gear not so much as before) i hate ArenaNet behaviour. Yes they should close troll threads, but they also closed a lot of good threads with good feedback. Anyways, I just stopped to visit their forums, to not curse my blood anymore with their actions. I'll just stick to the game and see what steps will they make, if take more trademil route or (GOD PLEASE NO) they introduce trademil to PvP, i'll just quit. 

I never was a fanboy, i liked the concept of the game, but unfortunately they forsaken their philosophy and took the bad path, that other failure MMOs have taken...the standard MMO route ;), very very dark future.

I sat down and had some real thinking about recent events both ingame and in the forums. The severe lack of communication from both Colin and Brian and the recent sale of shares to Nexon in NCsoft. Nobody from Arenanet seems interested to put to bed players fears about hot subjects in the forums.

Would you think I’d be right in thinking then that Guild wars 2 is no longer controlled by the same people who brought us this game? Have Colin and Brian and their team been given a new project to work on, and that the game is now under the influence of someone from Nexon or some other body that has their own ideas and what they want to do with this game?

No need for tin foil hats on this one, just a general feel I have about this game now, and feel its going to go in a different direction that I was sold on, well it already has imo.

OP did in fact called out the staff members by name.

I can't believe there are still people out there prepared to defend ANet.

Sure it's their forums, and sure there are rules, but good people break bad rules everyday.  The actual topic is much more important than the breaking of some arbitrary rule on a forum.

As for OP...sucks man...but nothing will come of the frustration gamers have with this game and company unless they fully ban the game and company.  Otherwise, it's business as usual.
