Discovery Edition
The Discovery Edition is the new and improved free trial for TERA!
What is the Discovery Edition? The Discovery Edition is the new free trial available for players interested in giving TERA a try. We have improved our previous free trial by increasing the max level players can play up to, as well as removing the 7 day restriction so you can play on your own time and not worry about using up the free trial time! How do I sign up for the Discovery Edition? All you need to do is create an En Masse account by going to http://tera.enmasse.com/ and signing up. Once you have validated your e-mail, you should see the option to download TERA! If you already have an En Masse account or have participated in the 7 day trial, you should see a Download Now button available to you when you sign into https://account.enmasse.com. What are the restrictions? You may only have 1 Discovery Edition on your En Masse account.
Chat restrictions:
Limits to:
Other restrictions:
How do I download TERA?For the Discovery Edition of TERA you will want to use the Happy Cloud installer. This will allow you to get playing as quick as possible! If I have done the 7 day trial, can I upgrade to the Discovery Edition?Yes, your account will automatically be upgraded to a Discovery Edition account! Can I use a chronoscroll on a Discovery Edition account? You may purchase a chronoscroll on a Discovery Edition account, but you may not use it. To use a chronoscroll, you must have a full copy of TERA.
Only if you're a new player. Bullshit I paid for the game and was only able to put a small amount of time in. So if I sign up with a new account I can play to lvl 28 but since I paid for it I must resub. I'm lvl 13 and should have the same account type as the new people since I'm not 28. Sorry but En masse entertainement just lost me for good.

that is done by every mmo . done by rift , world of warcraft .literally everyone . you cannot blame anyone else but yourself . thats why it is said not to throw yourself into the hype bandwagon when the game is going to launch .

if your only level 13, either resub or make a new account with a different email and play till 28. this kind of practice is the way almost every thing works, cable compaines give new subscribers better deals. phone combines sell you phones cheap with a NEW 2 year plan. at worst, if you make a new account and play to level 28 and decide you want to keep playing just buy a new copy for 20.00 which gives you a free month, and you only lost 5 bucks. |

Originally posted by lotaparty Well sorry to say your wrong. Rift is just rift lite and I can still login and make a low lvl toon up to 15. World of war craft not sure but don't really care. Oh and since I own swtor I'll get a few extras since I payed for the game. So what now. I think its BS sorry no reason that anyone who has paid for the game shouldn't be able to jump in and play to 28. I didn't buy it a launch got it like two months ago. |

Originally posted by st4t1ck you can put it how ever you want its still bs and you know it. No reason they can't just open it up for everyone. Oh wait they can't, they want to make that 5 bucks right, yeah but no thanks. I 'll save my money and just not buy a en masse/ bluehole game ever again that easy. |

Not sure why you rage so hard over tera. SWTOR didn't allow you to play with an ex-sub account as till tomorrow the 15. (F2P)
I understand your point, but does it realy matter? At the end of the day you are still gonna need to pay a box and a sub. |

It's a unlimited time Free Trial, not "F2P." You said it yourself. Level 13 is an hour (if that much). Just create a new account with a new email address. It's spelled "paid" FFS. |

Originally posted by skydiver12 I know its only tera and I guess its not that big of a deal. Just a dick head move on en masse ent part thats all. |

Originally posted by Reas43 What if I do get into it this time around and want to play then I would have to buy it again and thats just a waste since I already paid for it. No worrys I'm sure it'll be F2P soon enough. lol yes it is spelled "paid" my bad |

It may have lost a player in you, but thanks to your information and links they have just found another player in me (downloading now). Considering this sites demographic, it's likely they have got a few more new players from your post, so in total, they are probably doing better thanks to you.
Of course, this may have been your objective all along /emote narrows eyes *pops on tinhat* "When people don't know much about something, they tend to fill in the blanks the way they want them to be filled in. They are almost always disappointed." - Will Wright |

Originally posted by bestever I kind of disagree. Essentially, you already purchased Tera. Theoretically you were "sold" and ready to make the purchase. Which you did. All this is, is a way to "sell" to someone else who doesn't have the game. There is no reason to convince you to buy as you already made that leap. |

Thanks for the heads-up. I may have to give it a try now.

Originally posted by Reas43 It takes a little bit longer than an hour to get to level 13, especially if you pick certain classes. Also, Island of dawn (noob island) is by far the worst experience in TERA outside the first dungeon (bastion of lok).
Speaking as someone who's done virtually everything in TERA, I can be honest when I say this. If you didn't like it when you paid for it, you damn sure won't like it when there isn't money involved (tripple negative lol). It's the same game for the most part. I personally have stopped logging in everyday, and when I do I just talk to guildies who aren't on vent. I use chronoscrolls to keep my account active incase I feel an itch to play, but until they pump out more content that's probably the only reason I'll log in.
In truth, TERA's real problem is the lack of actual content in the game. The only thing to do in the game currently is grind. There's absolutely nothing outside of grinding to do in the game. 1 very (very) flawed PVP type battleground limited to only level 60's just doesn't cut it. -inb4 "STOP HATING NOOB DO YOU HAVE FULL +12 VISIONMAKER?" No, I do not. After failing countless times over and over again on enchants post "enchanting buff" patch, the lack of actual profit from doing hardmode dungeons, the lack of ANYTHING to do in the game besides grind, and the limited outlook this game has I just lost the will to play. |

as most point out, its done by every single mmo on the current market (well almost) its a lesson everyone learns to, unless its at or just afther launch you will always sign up for a trial first and then upgrade to a paid account. you never make a new account from the fresh box install. its a stupit thing but just the way things are atm. also nothing to be done against it either , its to deeply rooted into modern economic systems.

Originally posted by Blazeyer This I can agree with. I still have my sub and since I don't minding grinding I just fight monsters for drops/cash but in truth they need to give more of a reason to be there. More pvp options perhaps though my preference is land control through pvp and that might not be fair to expect every game to cater to that. |

It's called a free trial and most mmos have it. You are not entitled to play the game for free.

Yeah this is the same thread I posted over a week ago here (it's still in the front page of TERA in MMORPG.com)
http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/477/view/forums/thread/368794/TERA-Discovery-Edition.html
They did this level cap increase, and chances are they will increase it again in the future or go F2P altogether. They have talked about this in the past so those options are still on the table.

Its better to be quiet and perceived as stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. |

Any chance this might get to European version of the game some time soon? This double provider thing never brought us any good.
