While that doesn't exactly describe the situation, it does show that you started a character, did not make it 80 and will not regularly (or ever in this case) be logging on. |

Ah you were too fast for my edit.. yeah, that's what I thought at first, but then, just thinking about it.. seems like there's a big difference between hating the game right off the bat, and getting bored of it too quickly?
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world. |

I am reminded of the classic analogy of a straight line drag strip with a brick wall directly across the far end...and the futility of approaching that wall while still accelerating. But the whole discussion is so 2002. |

I quit about a week ago. It's not that I don't think its a good game... I just got bored very quickly. I think it is due to the skill system. Not sure why, but it got old to me faster that usual. Even with swapping out weapons, I just didn't think there were enough skills that I liked. If there were to add additional skills for the weapons and let me chose which I want to use, it might help.
So bascially, at least to me.. the fighting got ridiculously repetitive/boring running around dodging, attacking, dodging, attacking. Not that it's so different in other games, but coupled with the stale DE's and hearts (which I can't stand) made it wear. I'm not sure how, but this game made me miss the good ol' questing from eq2 and wow. |

Originally posted by botrytis This is what has been said since Everquest, but I disagree with it. MMOs are about the world and everyone in the world, not being in a party. A simple co-op game like Phantasy Star Online can have a party, but it obviously isn't an MMO. This is why instances and MMOs should not mix as it turns it away from being an MMO and more into being a co-op game. |

edit: since OP want to find out where in game people are and which decision have they make pool is propably missing two options: a) Stopped playing quickly and don't play to go back b) Achieved 80 lvl, got bored, quit and don't plan to go back.

I got my ranger to 80 and now I don't know what to do. Started on a few alts but got tired of grinding. Good thing the game is free so I can always return whenever I feel like it. |

Originally posted by fenistil Yeah, as I mentioned a few posts later.. I gave it some more thought, and decided you had a point. Although, I'd have just tied that into the last option (never played / didn't like the game at all, ever) When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world. |

I haven't had the motivation to log in for a while. At level 78 on my main. Orr, dungeons, and large-scale boss events have been 100% disappointing. Kind of bored/sick of Hearts and the personal story portions have been disappointing - completely lacking in scale and "epicness." MMO History: |

Originally posted by killion81 I'm sorry, but "will not be logging on regularly" or "i hated the game won't play it again, ever, EVER" are universes apart. The obvious choice is missing, but I get it. You're asking the people who initialy enjoyed the game. Right? |

I can't vote on this poll, I've hit level 80 and I'm having fun, but i really wouldn't say tons. How about a "Hit level 80 and play casually, still have a little fun" :P ?
The games nice to play, but It's just like any other mmo really, just with a lack of progression. i play maybe a hour or two every three days or so. |

I am level 50 with my Guardian, but was surprised with Mists of Pandaria and went nuts in WoW for the past month. Now, that I am closing in on my second 90, I will play GW2 more regularly. I am very interesting in the moba style pvp maps rumors, because that's probably all I would do in game :P |

Originally posted by deakon That's around the time you get your last trait, right? Usually a 30 point elite that turns out to be kinda useless - not a great way to top off the experience, which can make it even more discouraging. After that, no more special skills to look forward to, or anything like that. Just better stats and equipment. When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world. |

I have one 80 (warrior, exotic geared, 100% map completion), slowly working up a couple of alts (notably ranger and elementalist), and I still find a lot of stuff to do when I log in with any of my characters.
Originally posted by fenistil The real question is what are you still doing here posting negative stuff daily if you don't plan to ever play again? [mod edit] |

I really just tried to break it into the 3 most prominent "phases of play", pre 80, at 80, and geared 80 with story complete (should have put map completion here too) and whether or not you will continue playing. I used "logging on regularly" as the definition for continue playing, as there is no subscription fee to be paid that definitively gates access to the game. While "I got bored before I hit 80 and don't log on much, if at all now" and "I tried the game, hated it and won't ever play it again, ever" are different feelings from a player's perspective, for this poll and what it is attempting to find, they are equivalent. |
