if u played the clasic WoW, dont try the expansions... they will ruin your old wow experience. The game since the TBC became:

-easy in general

-epic loot is easy to get

-you farm honor(remember the clasic wow pvp rank system? forget it)

-no 40man raids when everyone knew what to do

-you can go almost everywhere from the city

-dungeon finders etc.

Show me your gold challenge mode completions.

most people are in blues/greens still. Sure give it 1-2 months before half the playerbase has full purple.

the classic system was only live for the first 2/3rds of vanilla and it was terrible to go thru and i won't do it again.

few guilds in the world had people who knew everything that i can assure you, the rest of them were cluster fucks until shit was on well on farm.

alot more traveling involved with MoP

Hell, I just came back after 10 months.  Although I have a few level 85's, I still started a new toon to learn the system and to enjoy the ride.

It's never too late to star fresh. It's done on purpose. All the stuff you worked so hard for the previous expansion has become trivial and next to worthless. Get ready for the new shinnies. If you actually just want the journey to cap, then your decision should be even easier.

It's never too late with WoW. They're always on the lookout for fresh blood.

Yes, gold is not a problem anymore, even if you only use dungeon finder for leveling. Sure, you will not probably make the gold to take Master Riding (4k if i remember right) but that's not mandatory.

And to answer the OP: it's the best time to start fresh. Unlike Cataclysm, they've got this expansion right.

Wear thick armor plates in dungeon finder, the community went from the best to the most bashing anoying namecalling scum of the earth in any mmo.

So ignore as many of these scum as you can so you dont ever group with them.
(yes if you ignore a moron you wont ever see them in a random dungeon again)
Also i sugest you make a tank class and have massive fun and insta queue for random dungeons, but beware, people expect you to finish a dungeon witnin 1 min of entering ;)

I played from 2004/2012 before calling it quits, but many of my friends still play it :)

You will be level 90 in a week. Then you will be able to sit around with others in trade chat talking about how so and so sucks.

But I agree, you should go back if you are looking for something to do - But not anything thats actually a challenge.

but they are not like this. they are not even ranked last in challenge modes. they are raiding with LFR (starts tommorow btw) and not even in normal mode. they wait to get the buff after some months to zerg the raids and spamm how easy mode they are.

so where are all those cool ppl? can they tell us what are the cool and challenging mmo's they play?

You have to  be kidding me. You can not lump Wow into anything that relates to challenging. My wife works at a daycare and they have kids ages 9-12 that play wow when they get off from school. I will have to take a picture of it and post it. Best memory I have is a kid crying cause he didnt want to take his meds cause he just got in a group!

But as for raids, sure you are probably right. Once you level to max level in a week, then buy enough gear ( with gold ) to get your ilvl to where it needs to be to enter those raids. You dont need any prereq to enter a raid except level and for LFR you need Ilvl. Tough stuff there.

And as for a challenging MMO , I am still looking as well. 2012 is a flop when it comes to challenging , save Darkfall's new one.

Yes, someone with limited time can experience that content with not much effort, why is that a bad thing? There are 3 tiers of difficulty for Raiding content, with the top tier being really hard, while the bottom tier being really easy, faceroll. Why is that a bad thing?

If you want a challenge, do Heroic Mode Raids, or Challenge Dungeons. Those are hard. Yes, harder than Vanilla raids.

Yes, or Arena PvP, or rated Battlegrounds, even normal mode raids are not that easy for everyone. The leveling is easy, there is no real challenge in leveling, many people do not dislike that, especially those enjoying alts.
