The new WvWvW or SvPvP just don't have anything for me. I even miss the old arena types. WvW is fun, but 90% of the time it's you 20 vs 2 or 2 vs 20. I'm not a kid anymore and rolling people who have no chance isn't fun for me, it's just boring. I can't get into WvW quickly, there's no real guild skill. I sat and watched the 1st season championships a few times in GW1, I want that intense feel of challenge. HoH was totally different, but equally challenging. HoH was more build based and less umm skill based if that makes any sense. Iway, monk balls, minions, glass cannons and such. It seemed like something new every month. The big thing was whatever type of PvP you liked you got into pretty fast. Expansions are coming so I'm holding out hope for some good new PvP types. Asdar |

Me too, I miss HoH and GvG and especially GWTV which allows you to watch the best guilds playing in live... and to learn from them. I remember watching the War Machines and their W/E galing everybody on their way !... I remember fighting IWAYs in balanced... I remember the chain lightning spike before the nerf... And despite many patches, the ever rampant ranger spike... The N/M build... and so on... Good ol'days... What was great about HoH and GvG was the level of the competition. WvW is not for me a real competition, but more a game with a Braveheart feeling... And I like it. It is NOT realistic, but it has the smell of it. You can flank, ambush, intimidate people, etc. The moves are hardly predictable... Sometimes people are fleeing when they should counter attack. It's very human, chaotic and fun. |
