100000 things to test and balance, 2 months until release, no beta announced yet. They've been in-house testing probably for a while now, this is AV's way keep it hush hush until something is actually there and functions decently. Unlike other games.. *cough MO *cough.

They've clearly stated they stopped working on the original a long time ago because of the development of UW.

New UI, new world, more content, class system. Doesn't sound like all the old problems are going to be there lol,

I lost count of how many times AV said something like "Feature 'x' is done and entering final testing phase" only to repeat the same thing 3 months later, and again a few months later or simply never mention it again. I wouldn't count on their words too much :)

I'll bet anyone here, this is exactly what they'll do with DF:UW.  You'll pay for a lisence to play initially, and then they'll run a promotion a few months later to let you move to the new game free or for a discounted price, and then they'll announce that the original DF servers are closing, and they'll run another promotion to get the remaining players into the new game. 

All you posters better play DF unholy war and stay. I need a population to kill. This is gonna be the best mmorpg out there. 1.0 was already the best mmo so now, its gonna be an over kill with ads hopely and a full server.

I was playing both Vanguard, and waiting to play GW2. GW2 because I'm so so tired of quest grinds that GW2's dynamic events feel like medicine, and it has DAoC, my favorite MMO's, RvR model. But I'll be playing Darkfall too.

Me to.  My play time though is a lot different now than what it was a few years ago.  GW2 is a good fit for my casual play style right now.  I did love everything about Darkfall though but everything took so much time to do.  I will have to wait for more details.

You would think I didn't post this with a link earlier in the thread.  Kind of like instead of making crap up I actually went and provided a verifiable source for the informatiion.

Fact, the first server transfer only lasted 3 months, one month longer then they originally intended.  That is if it actually started in October, and not later.  They ended the free transfers in January of 2010, and you couldn't transfer in September of 2009.

First, that's not the only time transfers were available, second, it still doesn't prove what you said that "no one was accomodated". I never had to pay. Thousands of others never had to pay. Not AV's fault if you didn't opt into the deal.
