I honostly had to check to see if I had clicked the right link at first o.O - then realized it actually said GW2 in the top - where as it didden't make much sense to me at all.
Obviously when the female starting growing tatoos I knew she was playing a norn, but really not the best choice for the trailer - it might be "art" as some say, though that kind of art certainly doesn't fit well in here, people won't really know what they are watching at all, or what to expect even.
EDIT: Another thing is that, I personally would wish that Zhaitan actually would attack like that instead of clinging to a tower D: |

The only way you could consider this drivel art, is if you are the kind of person that considers Britney Spears a musician.

When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world. |

This is like trying to drive straight through Schroedinger's minefield! |

Personally, I'd take this trailer over Blizzard's generic CGI "battles" any day.
This trailer has a message, not just a flashy disposition.

Originally posted by Atlan99 It is and I do. Of course, bad art and bad musician but that does not really change anything. You dont need to be Mozart to be a musician, anyone playing banjo at a hillbilly wedding is still a musician. But it makes me wonder: Why? A few minutes of game footage beats crap like this. But for some reason are MMO commercials at best bad and often horrible (this one horrible). |

At the beginning, I would have thought it's The Secret World trailer. The RL transformation has been done to dead, and become very cheesy now. ArenaNet, I like you and all, but this trailer have let me down.

it reminded me an old awesome commercial from David Lynch for the Playstation2 , but they could make it better the girl with the gasmask and the party around the fire was kinda awkward, they could made something mroe sophisticated or something more obvious the middle path was kinda blah.
smart intentions, mediocre result .

There are thousands of gameplay videos/trailers/previews on youtube and they have been around for years. Informed gamers have already seen them and potential costumers are teased to go look for them. This trailer/commercial is brilliant. The fact that so many hipsters around here didn't like it only proves how good it is. Well done i say. |

Okay... what the heck was that trailer? o_O Made no sense and it felt like a TSW trailer for the initial 90% of it. Wonder why there seems to be more haters on the internet? Read this by an actual marketing guy to find out why. |

bzooty: I love Guild Wars 2. This doesn't make me want to play Guild Wars 2. pauliwoggiusMiazma: I think it was made for people who have no idea what Guild Wars 2 is. bzooty: And they still won't after viewing this. its really hard to use real people without having really really good actors, im guessing this are internal talents or some random people they got on a scholl. I think that is what is shocking is that it starts with real people and then there is a avatarish moment when the girls materializes her self as the avatar. i love the idea , but the execution is not the best in the world. anyways for a game add i think it does the job. For something so few seem to like there are quite a few people still talking about it... maybe that's the intent.
Dragon! Seriously, no one noticed the dragon?

Heh heh... ok, this is funny. I just showed the trailer to my son (he's 9) without telling him what it was. Right at the start of the running/spraypaint scene he says "That's not Guild Wars 2." But, he was still transfixed watching it all the way to when Zhaitan appeared. Then his mouth was wide open at the sight of Zhaitan (funny to see). At the end of the trailer... "That was awesome!"
Mind you, this was through the eyes of a 9 year old that currently is a GW2 fan, but he loved it. |
