I dislike the way SOE handle their F2P system. Either give us Aion style F2P or NOT. |

I think that Vanguard had the potential to be a really good game. However, the bugs and shortcomings in certain areas broke its neck for me. ArcheAge seems to be a similar game and I am looking forward to it. Just hope it will not be another bugfest. At least there is OWPvP... because of its woefully outdated mechanics, hilariously bad character models and bland unoriginal art and design.. oh look i can see miles and miles of generic shite in all directions, its a niche game for a certain type of player.. i aint one of em, i like my games to be fun, look good and play well.. pretty much the opposite of Vanguard, theres a reason this game tanked you know..

I am playing it even jumped on the yearly sub deal, but the lag issue makes it almost impossible to play in some instances. They say they thinked they've narrowed it down so hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I have a SoE station access pass that will go well into next year thanks to trading some EQ2 plat for game cards, however I just can't be bothered logging into any of their games. Vanguard in particular, has great potential, but here are the points why I am not playing it at the moment: 1) Terrible F2P matrix didn't really fix the lack of players enough. If they had followed Aion's guidance the world would be far more full and lively. 2) Terrible performance and lag issues. Graphics need a serious overhaul and character models need to be reverted to previous levels of detail before they dumbed them down as a quick fix to performance issues back at launch. Even with fast broadband and a beast of a machine the controls are really unresponsive at times. The default User Interface could really use some loving. 3) No PvP. I love PvP. 4) Guild Wars 2 is out and it is just too much fun for me to log into anything else, although if Vanguard fixed the above two issues it would be a serious contender as I love it's depth, races and classes. |

I'm not playing because I never got the chance to play...The game crashed to desktop every time I fired it up (Only game I ahve ever had do that) so apparently there is something about it my PC doesn't like......

I was going to resub for f2p, but they completely botched it. They seemed determined to make it more like EQ2 than fixing bugs and polishing...which was all the game needed. So, gave VG my last look and uninstalled. Hopefully there will be another game at some point that captures the old EQ1 feeling, but this isn't it. |

I'm not playing it, because there are many other great games out there, and my time is limited. I have fun with MTGO, TF2 and GW2.*shrugs*

It is plain and simple. It is just as bad as it was when I had a sub at month 3. Nothing really has changed for this game. It still sux, and the free to play freemium they gave it made it sux worse. I logged in a few times after it went free to play, they game was just as laggy now as it was at launch, it is still full of bugs. You really got to love this game to play it. I lost my love for the game back during beta but stuck with it for 3 months hoping SOE would fix it, instead it got the kiss of death for years on end. Sorry SOE just needs to pull the plug on this game. There are far too many fre to play games that do it better. |
