I would say that about most themeparks, especially given the fact that they've been treating us to the same thing now for years. I think it's one major reason why GW2 becomes so tedious so fast - because it really is more of the same, just with a slightly different presentation (and it's very easy and simplistic as well). It's the same reason so many other themepark games have gotten boring so fast in recent years - it's the same design concepts and content over and over again. GW2 isn't any different. DEs are often the same old MMO content, without the quest giver. Additionally, many of them "move at the speed of cow" - they move at the scripted speed (ugh, another slow, meaningless ox convoy), not at the speed of the player, which gets tedious. Also, not all content is available to all players all the time, which is a major reason why most themeparks do not allow players to change the world. Not that DEs really change the world, they just make content available according to the script. Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned. |

Originally posted by laserit You are a strange man then. I would never, ever get bored of that, ever.... ever. I was actually thinking the other day how it was amazing that porn never gets old or uninteresting.
There is something strange about GW2. I have never found myself actually enjoying any of it. I never stop playing and say "Man that was a blast". I just go through the motions, complete hearts or DEs, go to points, climb to a vista, pop into WvW for an hour or two and when I'm done I am more like "What did I just do for all that time?" They do a great job of keeping things to do in front of you so you don't have to search out something to keep you busy, but not a single thing of it has yet to be exciting or "fun". I plan to keep leveling up and trying stuff out to see it becomes fun and mainly to see if the WvW gets better as people explore it more, but the fun factor is surpisingly absent. Even in Rift, which I didn't think was very interesting, I had moments where I thought "Ok, now that was fun". |

Lev 60 and not close to being bored....I tend to believe most "bored" players are a product of their own problem, rush through a game, spend insane amount of hours behind the computer, not even seeing half the game, DE's, WvW, sPVP, cafting, storyline, world events, map completion....soooooo much to do.

48 ranger, 35 engineer, and 22 guardian. Not even close to being bored. So much to see and do it's not even funny. Just taking my time and enjoying the ride. |

Originally posted by ste2000 What? I don't know how you guys can do it unless you have guildmates feeding you crafting materials. I am not going to call you out, but I'm a fair crafter at any game and I have about 150 hours in and my armorsmithing is just near 200 and my jewelcrafting is at about 180. If you truly are at those levels I salute you, but I don't see how it is possible without help. edit: and if you aren't being helped by guildmates with materials then you can't be purchasing them because as you said everyone is selling under cost so you can't be making a profit. If I'm way off here please make a guide for us!

Originally posted by ste2000 Casual lol!! Do we understand the term in similar way? i play 2 hours a day 3 to 4 times a week. I have 4 alts all in lvl 30 to 40 range. And i haven't even scratched the surface. In two weeks if you hit lvl 80 with 3 professions to lvl 400 you must have put easily 8 to 10 hoursa day. Unless your guildies were feeding you mats to level up i am not going to believe a word you just said. Why people tell such obvious lies? are we really that stupid and easy to fool? |

Originally posted by OldMMOGamer Yes, there is plenty to do. The problem is none of it feels "fun". It just feels like you're scratching things off a To Do list one by one. Even completing a zone 100% doesn't make you go "Nice!" it is just a checkmark and on to the next one. That is my biggest problem with the game, it isn't that I'm rushing, it isn't that I can't find things to do (I'm always doing something, they hit that aspect of the game quite well), the problem is not once has it felt fun to do any of it. |

Originally posted by sonoggi This. Week, week and a half, whatever... And yes leveling curve is not intense, so it's not as 'hard as other mmos' to level, but still --- step away from the computer. Go out. Socialize. Get a job. Get laid. Get away from the computer.
I personally no longer complain about being bored or burned out on a game as I've learned that it only means I play it too much. No game is perfect, and no game is supposed to provide a better lifestyle. Just play it as a videogame, and when you're not having fun, do something else.... simple as that.
That being said, I personally never felt any excitement when I played GW2, as well as when I watch my friends play it. Too much chaos, needlessly hectic flashing colors, and an apparent lack of any real strategy and tactics beyond zerging and firing off constant AOE attacks at everything.
Beautiful graphics though. Just not something I can get into anymore. I'm an old man now that enjoys the pacing of EVE more so than any of these new games. MMOs are now for button mashers, and not for deep thinkers like they used to be.
Have fun, that's what counts. Have fun.
