filmoret: One thing I have never figured out is why the game devs hardly ever fix simple problems that arise. It is like they don't care about the pvp community. Nitth: What makes you so sure its a simple fix? filmoret: Because most of them are. Sometimes its just changing a number in a code string other times its creating a few variables. However none of them should take over a few hours of coding. |

I remember some poster had a sig that said to stop making analogies because you're no good at them (was referring to the whole forum). This guy needs to take their advice. no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Pretty sure the OP is trying to use a metaphor (albeit not a very good one) to get his point about lack of innovation across.
What I'm not sure about are the number of people who are saying 'go feed your son, what kind of parent are you?'. Do they all get the whole metaphor thing and are trying to be funny, [mod edit]
[Thanks for the edit mods, you obviously fit into the edited part then!] |

I want innovation as much as the next gamer... but GW2 failing would just drive away more investors.
It is hard enough to get people to make an MMO as it is, without veterans of the industry failing as well. |

I can imagine playing a prison MMO already. Hiding sharp objects in your clothing, avoiding aggro in the yard, doing pushups in the cell and grinding away at the wall with a spoon at night.

I wholeheartedly agree that the MMO genre is in big trouble, even if most people dont realize it yet.
The lack of diversity is mindboggling. The fact that people think that GW2 is "innovative" is a testament to how little the genre is changing.
Part of me sadly does agree that the MMO industry might need some sort of crash. Though I've been saying it for years, there needs to be some sort of implosion before real change will ever happen. In all honesty, I just wish a developer will take a look at the older games and give players their freedoms back. What ever happened to open ended play? Skill based, classless systems. Player housing? A real economy? Community focused games? Sad. |

I with you, but I'd be bored to tears while it's crashing :(
edit - everything after TSW, GW2. and TESO, okay? DamonVile- Games built for disposable players are now apparently built by disposable employees. |

Make your son a toast and you give him a breakfast. Teach your son to make a toast and you'll give him all his future breakfasts.
