If one tries to build what would normally be a trinity class, one becomes quite overpowered.  Same happens with a warrior, when specing and gearing towards defence.  Heath regen and mitigation is really high, to the point where you can just stand there having a few equal level mobs beating on you, and your health bar hardly moves before regen'ing.  I suspect it's a balancing issue, and is pretty much unstoppable in pvp, being able to take on a few players by one self.

 

As for the difference between the two classes.  Guardian has stronger heals, and offers more mitigation to a group through support mechanics.  A warrior is more straight dps, with tanking like mechanics.

Finally someone else that see's what I see.  Up until about 40 I stacked Toughness/Vitality stuff and traits.  It made WvW just a lol moment.  If I didn't have at least 3 or more GOOD dps people hitting on me, I could sit there and rez someone in their face, and there was nothing they could do about it. 

That's why I laughed when in another thread someone said Thief was good at killing Warriors.  Considering how many times I had run into a solo one or a tag team and the fights ended with them dying or running away I found hiliarious.  With my signets up and toughness/vitality stacked at best they could tickle me.

In Death - Sacrifice.

I can imagine guardian being strong with +healing and toughness in PvP....

The sensible action would be to nerf mitigation if it is that problematic.

Though, it is probably best to see how things are looking in another month or so.  This early there could be dozens of things we're missing about the big picture.

Had that happen to me.  Saw a player get killed, by two.  Ran over and res'ed him, with the 2 beating on me.  Hp hardly moved.  Slaughtered them after the res.

Im playing a warrior, which is lvl 70 now - I have been specced into toughness and vit my self, and havent really been able to die due to specific traits and otherwise utitlity skills and healing skill.

 

However, when you get further up the levels and into higher leveled areas, the mobs starts to get a lot more HP, I started to notice this in the mid 50's - Killing something started to take quite a lot longer than it did before, even though I was able to survive, actually killing something would take some time - I especially noticed this when I grouped up with people who were otherwise specced for damage, who was quite capable of killing things a lot faster than me.

I specced vit and toughness since I wanted to have a control role character who otherwise would be able to take a lot of punishment.

 

If specced right, the warrior is quite capable of doing massive amounts of burst damage, and general very good at keeping the pressure on when it comes to damage.

What I really dont wanna see is any class nerfed because a few people who dont know how to play the class complain. My highest toon atm is my Guaridan, lvl 24, and I find that the class is not OP in any way. They do what they are supposed to and thats all. I find that when I didnt know the class very well it was harder to stay alive, but now that I know the class better I find it to be very enjoyable, with plenty of survivability if you have the right skills selected for what your trying to do.

Not against a defence stacked one.  Just need to switch weapons to prevent the kiting, hinder, switch back to melee and rehinder. Pretty much over after that.

So when it comes down, warrior and guardian are good at dealing damage and survive. Its just the difference how they do it?

 

My only problem is that "Symbol of Wrath" seems so useless in PvP...

They bring much more utility for group, and are nearly unkillable.

 

They do bring less damage than warrior. But damage is not everything

I dont want to be slammed or die if someone jumps me 100%.

 

So if I want to slam, its the wrong class. Then I should have been a warrior?

 

However, I dont need to do as much damage as a warrior, if I heal more than a warrior, so he actually in the end deal as much damage as me anyways.

weak ranged damage, and as you get higher level, the two hander sword damage normals out.

 

Guardians are best in group. or defensive.

its only a slight damage reflection,

and requires cast to use unless traited.

so that means stoping in melee. aka Kiteable...
