Granted, ArenaNet is trying to keep the game safe from idiots, but I think they might be going a bit overboard with bans and blocks on the first day of actual launch.
If they weren't making mistakes the game would benefit from this, but because they are making mistakes clearly then I think this could really hurt the "perfect launch" that they should have. |

From the reddit link supplied above:
We want to clear up some of the confusion about GW2 name and behavior suspensions. To keep Guild Wars 2 a pleasant place to be, we take action against racist names, hate speech, and other unacceptable behavior. We have suspended some accounts involved in the use of offensive character names or inappropriate chat. The number of account blocks is miniscule: less than .001% of our total player base. When an account is blocked for a chat offense, the account is given a three-day suspension. When an account is blocked for an offensive name, the player is required to rename the character name and, in most cases, the account is also given a three-day suspension. We have reviewed all the name suspensions currently in place. Where we could give some leeway, we removed the account suspension, which will allow those players to rename the character and rejoin the game. However, for substantially offensive names, we will keep the full three-day suspensions in effect. In a few posts on Reddit and on fan forums, players have claimed they were suspended for using a harmless-sounding character name, when in fact they were suspended for a different and truly offensive character name on their account. Others claimed that they were not told why they were suspended, but the game does give a message that states the reason for the suspension. In every case we have double-checked, the action taken on the account was appropriate. However, we'd like to clear up any misconceptions. If you think you were unfairly suspended, or if you'd like to know the specific chat or character name that got you suspended, post your character name and we’ll reply in graphic detail with the reason for the block. Warning: NSFW ahead!
I call BS on the OP. |

Please look at the date I've been registered on this site - then look at the amount of posts Ive made. Its not that I'm inactive, just that I don't post unless I truely feel I have something to say. Honestly if I had hacked or been an ass to someone I would expect some sort of repercussion. My in game name was "Im Famous" - I can understand if you don't like it, but it isn't an infraction of the Naming Policy. The site I spoke of in my op was reddit. I have contacted them through support messaging, and I didn't know they had a phone number.
Thankd for your help and sudgestions. |

Get in touch with ArenaNet support, the URL is on the main Guild Wars 2 page. Ask them what happened, as long as you don't cop and attitude they can and will help you.

At the very least it would give you confirmation of why were you banned, or whether you were hacked. BTW, this conversation leads me to think that you were indeed hacked: "I just tried to login and apparently I've been Perma Banned.. None of my characters were named poorly. And I wasn't offensive in chat.. My main character is named... XXXXX. After one of my characters from Guild Wars 1. Could you check why I was banned? My name is XXXXXX" (edited names and account name though they're both public on reddit) "permabanned means you were hacked" (this is a regular user, not from Anet) "Accounts are not actually "permanently banned" once we hear from the owner. If the account was hacked and used for gold selling or gold seller advertising by the account thief, the legitimate account owner needs to get in touch with Support. At that time Support will help the account owner regain access and the "ban" will be lifted. This is a top priority and the agents are working as quickly as possible." Well OP looking at your history you are a pvp buff, so I am guessing you beleive your stuff don't stink. Nothing against that, but alas that can carry over easily into chat spam. I have no doubt that was your issue. I know 2 people that got banned for botting already on their 2nd day in the game and I say good riddance. As far as your block then ban, there is more to the story no doubt. No company goes out of it's way to ban people randomly. It does them no good and to be perfectly honest here. I have seen tons of conversations on bans in other games, each one (when the truth actually was leaked out) came out to be some serious rage or cheating going on. So the worse thing you can do is go onto a public forum and complain about it. If you where serious, you would deal with the company directly if indeed something like this happened. Don't take me wrong here, it happened to me in swg, found out it was indeed a mistake, but I never went to SOE forums and put up a complaint about it, I just went to them directly and delt with it. Now if you are mad you got owned by your own demise and are looking for sympothy, dam man you definitly came to the wrong forum for that . IF you are truly legit, do it the right way let the thread die and talk to arena net. If you tried and failed, well then yeah, that sucks, you shouldn't have done what you did.

Thanks m8 - I will continue to work on Support until I get this resolved one way or another. |

When people get "hacked", it's rarely due to viruses and keyloggers. You probably just have really bad password usage, like having the same password for all of your accounts. As for a naming violation... you should have a pretty good idea of if your name could get reported or not. There isn't nearly as much grey area as people like to think, and names are rarely as clever as they seem. |

Just move to Europe , the EU laws and Consumer rights have priority before any EULA . You can even go to Police and make a complain for stealing since you paid 70$ for a service and you can't benefit from him .
