To answer your question and not give a misleading answer, Gw2 is not like tera in regards to their "true action combat" gw2 is more like the traditional hot bar system, with an active dodge mechanic/skill. |

Terra feels more like God Of War or Fable to me in terms of combat if im honest.

Both have hotbars with hotkeys in them that you use to launch abilities. The question was if the game was hotbar based, answer is yes (to both games). |

Anyway if we're comparing the whole combat system: Both have hotbars for abitlies. Both have very similar active dodge mechanics. In Tera you aim and hit in real time. In GW2 you tab-target (or auto-target, no aiming) for ranged combat like traditional system, but in melee you can just run to enemy and start swinging and hit what ever is in your face. In Tera abilities lock you in place unless the animation moves your char in some direction. In GW2 almost everything can be used on the run without having to stop.
That's about it? I could have missed something, feel free to fill in. |
