Love it when people bring up their military status in reference to their gaming preference. Raiding is like real war man!

OP hit the nail with the sledgehammer. Too bad you said something bad about GW2, so you'll get bullied by the zerg hive of blind fanatics in these boards.

Originally posted by BadSpock The problem with that is designing good raids takes a LOT of time. You have to balance things with regards to all the possible combination of abilities that could show up. Even 10-man groups offer a lot wider variety than 5-mans. So it really requires a disproportionate number of dev resources devoted to it. That or the raids just aren't very good (and if that's the case, why bother?). Then this starts to eat at and affect how things are balanced and what new abilities are introduced. Balance changes for raids can negatively affect other areas of the game. Overall, it doesn't seem worth the effort to me. I prefer GW2's take on large-scale PvE where fine-tuning is a non-factor because you aren't going to have a highly organized group of players going at it. Based on popularity in other games, 5-mans seems to be around the ideal number in terms of what people want to do and enjoy. I know I prefer my challenging content at the 5-man level. I've organized and led raids and it is an immense amount of work for everyone. 5-mans are more flexible and can be quite spontaneous. This will be especially true in GW2 where you don't have to worry about finding a healer/tank. |

Originally posted by Emerwyn Correction. OP said bad things about non-raiders. This is where many has problems with the OP. He says non-raiders are likely such because they have no personality, lazy, and are dumbasses who stand in the fire. The only valid reason he gave that wasn't an outright insult was the first reason. So most (if not all) replies that are critical of OP is not due to their opinion about GW2 but about how they stated it in a very rude way. |
