The Secret World Issue #2, August 2012: “Digging Deeper”
"DIGGING DEEPER"We're very excited to announce our second monthly issue, due for release on August 28th: 'Digging Deeper'. 'Digging Deeper' is jam-packed with content, including new character customisation options, the plastic surgery and barbershop, new investigation and action missions...and last (but definitely not least) our first auxiliary weapon: the rocket launcher!
AUXILIARY WEAPON #1: THE ROCKET LAUNCHER!Introducing a brand new weapon, featuring seven brand new abilities, wrapped in a brand new auxiliary wheel! With the addition of a third weapon and eighth ability hot-bar slot, you can now augment your existing decks with the awesome might of the rocket launcher. The rocket launcher that goes 'Boom!'. More details will be revealed very soon -- and this is just the first of many auxiliary weapons to come! We're already working on the next one…and The Secret World should prepare for a real Texas-style massacre. Rrrrrreeeennnennennnennnnn! THE MODERN PROMETHEUS!Inside an abandoned abattoir in the bowels of Brooklyn, the infamous Dr Anton Aldini (Peter Stormare) has set up his paraplastic surgery -- the Modern Prometheus -- and on August 28th, his practice will be open for business. With the Modern Prometheus, we're introducing new heads and new facial features, allowing players to completely alter the way their characters look. The first visit is free, but subsequent nips and tucks will cost PAX. Coupons will also be made available in the item store for those players who are short on in-game cash. OCKHAM'S RAZOR!Unhappy with your hairstyle? With your beard or moustache? Your makeup? At Ockham's Razor in London, you can change them all! Doubling the number of available hairstyles, players can use in-game cash (PAX) or coupons purchased in the item store to alter their 'do, facial hair or makeup. NEW MISSIONS!Mission Pack #2 -- part of August's issue -- adds new investigation missions, the auxiliary weapon mission, and lair action missions to the game:
And these are just some of the missions that will be made available as part of Mission Pack #2! NEW NIGHTMARE MODE DUNGEONS!Two additional dungeons are receiving Nightmare modes in issue #2: The Facility and Hell Eternal. Further testing the extreme limits of the players' abilities, these new additions bring new challenges and new rewards to The Secret World. |

Originally posted by Knuckledust TSW has weekly maintenance (update, if one is available) every tuesday. Since 28th August is the last tuesday that month, that's the reason. Dick move, you say? - come on. And even it wasn't a coincidence; what then? - it's business, of course they'll try to keep their players. |

The explosions that the Rocket Launcher made when they hit other players in PvP was simply Priceless. I know this isn't SWG, but the Rocket Launcher does bring back some fond memories. I am definitely curious how they will roll out this type of Weapon in the game. And when it comes to Chainsaws, didn't you always want to be Leatherface and terrorize other players in any game that had a Chainsaw :)

And just so you can no longer say that "you don't see anyone not playing GW2 to play this game", here i am - not playing GW2 to play this game.. well, this game and a couple of other MMOs that i play. So there, now you see someone. The reason I'm not playing GW2 - not buying it anyway, i did play in beta - is because TSW is superior to it in pretty much every way that matters to me - better PvE, better story, better questing, better character development system, better setting, better writing, better music, better encounter design.
TSW may have worse PvP and worse animations than GW2, but personally, I don't PvP and while I think GW2 looks downright awesome, I can't bring myself to play a game for the sake of a pretty running animation alone. But different people have different priorities. Next time i get bored of my games, I probably will pick up GW2 to fool around with it. It's certainly not terrible. Originally posted by UsualSuspect So much this, but.. well, said a bit nicer (from me). I will very much like it when the honeymoon is over with GW2 so that people can stop hating on other games so damn much. I know the hate will never stop, but this has become out of control (obligatory 'imo'). TSW is solid. Now Playing: Rift, Defiance, And occasionally TSW, APB

Actually, after a look and Knuckle's posting history, I'd say he's just trollan. Mentioning GW2 in your post seems to be the best way to piss people off nowadays. Based on some TSW-related topics on the GW2 board, I'd say GW2 fans generally like TSW.

I plan on playing GW2 with my coworkers from work, so as I stated I am a victim of peer pressure :) whether you believe that or not. However I agree with you when it comes to many of the posters on this forum about why their choice in game is going to be way superior than the ones your playing. As well, I cant wait till GW2 is released so players can go to their corners and be occupied. Frankly I am turned off by 'Doom and Gloomers" and most of them coming from the GW2 crowd on this website and dropping words like 'Fail, F2P and the Market Share". I never seen so much negativity towards WoW, SWToR and TSW. There are some cool GW2 players on this website as well, but the fanatics I just end up blocking them since there is so many saying the same thing in every post. I personally dropped 30+ hours in the BWE GW2 and look forward to WvW, if WvW can capture the same essence as it did with me in Dark Age of Camelot, I can see myself playing for awhile till it becomes repetition or as stated, when the honeymoon effect wears off. But I am more in tune with the SciFi MMO's and FPS games now than the traditional Knights and Castles. The one true Fantasy game with Knights I did love was DAoC & Shadowbane many moons ago. |

I'll probably get GW2 and keep also playing TSW, i don't see why it has to be "Either or" when both can give a different kind of experience. FC keeps delivering monthly updates, and those investigation missions are quite cool. The raid seems epic (not for this month) and GW2 seems like fun, why would i deny myself fun? to sustan stupid "my game is better than your game" flamewars?
no thanks, i'd rather enjoy games that are fun (for as long as they remain fun) than troll on the forums aginst a game. |

I see no conflict and look forward to playing both a lot this fall after all this damn great weather goes away and I can be indoors again without guilt. |

Yep, still no raids. Hopefully the game adds real content soon otherwise they won't be able to keep up with the competition. A new version of the same dungeon and a few new missions is not new content. A new weapon is kinda nice though, but people who play the game enough will unlock all of the abilities associated with it immedietly with all the AP they have stockpiled.

has anyone tested the new CC or seen anything on it?
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall.
