Indeed. I wonder why their F2P matrix hasn't been changed? Will it be released on the new website?
How hard is it to make / edit that F2P matrix? If a decision was made on the changes...that'd be the FIRST thing I changed...literally...like within hours of the decision... |

Originally posted by Razeekster 2 entirely different games. I can break down some of it for you, but both games go after entirely different crowds of gamers. Vanguard wants the PVE/Raiders who want a semi hardcore eq classic style of game play with a huge seamless open world it really is massive. GW2 wants the PVP/PVE crowd who like to PVE, but prefer PVPing. GW2 end game is PVP/WvWvW. I plan to play GW2 for PVP and Rift for raiding and im sure a lot of others will play GW2 for PVP and WOW for PVE.. |

To people who haven't played VG before.
Vanguard has such potential as a true PVE End game raiding MMO the world is massive the classes are all unique and the gameplay can be very fun in groups. It is not a solo game like rift where you would want to solo to max level. VG encourages group content and there are tons of areas to explore as a group. While you can solo to max level it is not the prefered route or the most fun one. IF and a big if F2P works and the playerbase gets bigger you can expect future content patches maybe even an expansion. The game offers features games today don't even offer non instanced housing ? Player crafted and owned ships ? The whole 3 spheres are amazing and all 3 can be very enjoyable if the server is active and alive. |

Originally posted by William12 GW2 wins in both PvE and PvP. The PvE is very dynamic and fun, the replayability is superior to Vanguard and EQ + stupid Raids are gone forever. The PvP is the best i've played in any mmorpg, because it's balanced and require skill. In WoW or Rift, if you have the right gear you can 1 shot people which is terrible. I played on the PvP server in Vanguard and it was awesome, however it was on low population and unbalanced + combat was to slow and PvEish. |

Originally posted by InFlamestwo Complete opinion, but GW2 PVE is the same as any game just done differently. GW2 PVE has 0 end game that is the difference you failed to understand between the games. Once you hit max level in GW2 what are you gonna do besides PVP ? Farm cosmetic items night after night ? Yah I don't think so. |

Originally posted by William12 Agree with you completely. I really enjoyed pvp in gw2 more than any other game. Brought me back to my warhammer days of orvr. But the pve just feels strange to me. The dynamic events where awesome, as it brought the world to life like i've never seen. You really do feel a part of the world and get immersed in it. However i did loose interest quick in the beta weekends because they just felt too repetative. The whole lack of raids and end game is just different than what im used to and most other people are as well. The BTP model allows people to play this along with another subscription game which is good, because it allows flexability. I personaly cant wait to play gw2 for the pvp but the pve is lacking Also on topic with Vanguard. I cant wait to try it out and play it for a few weeks before gw2. But sony's restrictions are way too strong. They should really look at how bioware is handling swtor, as it is the least restrictive among all the major ftp games out there.

Originally posted by William12 In GW2 all content is considered End Game, so pretty much endless end game. Have you played the betas? i have and i can tell you that i could spend over 2 weeks(if the betas was longer) in the same zone and everytime i would see something different. as it is now it's a total of 29 Zones. When the game releases they will continue to add more events to zones to refresh them. Expect an Expansion 2013 with more zones + new races etc. Raiding is the most boring feature i've seen..i Raided in Vanguard and in Rift..i don't see what's fun. Raids can take up to 5-6 hours and you can only do them once a week and when you completed the Raid you have nothing to do than to wait for the next Raid to release. Sounds terrible and 100x worse than endless end game. |

Originally posted by InFlamestwo lol entire game is end game my ass. Once you're 80 in GW2 what do you do ? that is end game as in AFTER you have reached max level. GW2 has no end game unless you think farming cosmetic items is fun. GW2 will be a good game, but it is not gonna keep people playing because of the PVE. |

Just in case anyone hasn't figured it out yet. You can create a trial account and you will be able to play freely until the game goes FTP.

I think it's come firstly to late and secondly the timing couldnt be worse unfortunately. With GW2 out this month and the f2p announcement for SWTOR Vanguard wont have nearly the impact it would have had with better timing, which is a real shame.

So perhaps other players, like me, aren't quite on the GW2 bandwagon and might be more interested in Vanguard, strictly from an "old style game" perspective. |

if enough people are playing i might resub. i cant see a reason for playing it on the f2p model. If the world itself start to get repopulated then i can justify spending 15. But like someone else said early in the post. GW2 is goin to launch 2 weeks later.... Once again bad timing on soes part. They were 3 years to late in making it f2p.

I think it can be successful if people go in thinking "what does this game have that I like", instead of nit-picking the faults they will inevitably find.
No game is perfect, and knowing that from the start can go a long way in keeping a positive perspective.
I'm downloading the trial now... |

Hybrid is not F2P, F2P is F2P...stop advertising paytraps as free. The game is either free or it isnt, part free is not free. free is free. BTW, its not F2P |

This F2P system will have incomparably less restrictions than Lotro or DDO or AoC F2P system.
