The doctors say his chances are 50/50...but there's only a 10% chance of that. |

I just tried it again. I disabled CrossfireX first because that'd cut my FPS in half. In a wilderness region near the swamp in Queensdale I was getting between 40 to 50 FPS. I have a 3.4 GHz Quad Core AMD processor game installed to RAID 0 SSDs 7970 graphics card (I have two, but disabled one as I said) 8 Gigs of 1600mhz RAM
My FPS are double what I had experienced before so I'm rather happy now. I think this is great performance, considering I play at 7680 x 1600 resolution (which is like 6x 1080p). Now I just hope for CrossfireX and Eyefinity fixes and I'll be good I guess. El Psy Congroo |

I deal with computer hardware and graphics cards quite a lot, theres something wrong with your computer if you had a consistently bad performance as you've described. there could be 3 different reasons for bad performance with your setup - slow/fragmented hard drives can crete a stuttering effect while they furiously attempt to load models and textures while your character approaches new stuff ( players, enviroment) , defrag your HDD's. installing GW2 on a solid state drive would work wonders here. your graphics card should be fine, but make sure your computer has enough power, this has been a main cause of some peoples grief in the past - their power supply was not high enough. You'll need to investigate this. I doub't your GC drivers would be a problem since the default install would have been fairly recent. other issues that people percieve as 'lag' , internet latency issues, wi-fi issues, programs running in the background ( your memory and chipset will impede your game if there's something going on in the background - check for viruses, trojans, and a general build up of useless process's running - check task manager )
I played BWE2 and 3 on 2 different computers, the lower spec one had an 8800gt and ran fine on medium settings no AA. however it also has 24gb, 7200rpm striped drives, |

The pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is very short, and the pen is very sharp. |

In this past BWE (3) I had these small stutters every 20-30 mins for perhaps 1-3 seconds per throughout most of the weekend. Didn't have any issues during the earlier events so those were a bit of a surprise.
However when those weren't occurring, I was running 70+ fps with a small dip down to perhaps low 60s only in the heaviest graphics areas, when I joined an event for example and mages were spamming fireballs. |

My desktop system is: i5-2500k @3.3ghz, 8Gb, GTX460 and 256GB SSD and running at 1920x1200. I've definitely noticed a change from the first BWE through to today in terms of performance. They've clearly done some work in the CPU/GPU balancing. A pleasant surprise, but honestly, I'd have been fine without it. I'd imagine in a densely populated area my system would've suffered but I'll be for sure testing in on my new Samsung IvyBridge Series 7 laptop at launch as it's techincally more powerful than my desktop. Today, I was almost completely lag free with 30+ FPS everywhere I had ventured and I even pushed everything to max. Previously, everything else was max I couldn't run shadows at Ultra but today I did for 90mins and the result was excellent. With my somewhat dated GPU, it was about a 10fps hit on average, but still very playable where before I was <10fps with shadows on ultra.
The internet is an amazing platform for some people to showcase their deficiencies as a person. Regards, |

There comes a point when it isn't the games fault and this is one of them.

The ground textures I can't stand everytime I look at them it reminds me of aion where we have this awful looking square flat ground but in this game its just smattered with tons of color to make it look better but it doesn't help.....
I see an option for godrays but I personally have never seen them in game maybe I'm just missing them.... |

Me and my friend are running the exact pc spec execpted the video card , I got the GTX 570 Overclock edition, nothing fancy here, he got the GTX 570 ( The original) and he lag like hell, everywhere. and his higher fps is 30 with nobody around
but he got crazy fps in BF3 (above 80)
we try everything and could not find the problem, we switched my videocard and still not working,
its only fixed when we totaly clean the disk (format) now he run perfectly,
sometime its just some software or program running in the background that ruin everything.. well for him its was that i guess, because the format made it work,
anyway good luck ,

Full Screen Maxed settings. Getting around 45-60FPS in WvWvW large epic battles. Normal Areas getting around 80FPS. Also my system does not have millions of crap running in the background :P People really need to learn to dissable stuff and optimize windows for gaming makes a huge difference.
Core i7 OCed to 4.3ghz. 580GTX MSI Version OCed. 8GB DDR. Running OS off SSD Drive. GW2 off a Raptor HDD. |

I might be all wrong here, but from that screenshot you linked, could it be that you are not using the native resolution of your monitor? I'm saying this because everytime I run a game without my monitor native resolution, graphics always look awful like on your screenshot. |

Both my wife and I are running: Asus Sabertooth Core I7 2600k OC to 4.2 8 GB Muskin Muskin SSD 120 GB EVGA GTX 570 Corsair 850W NVIDIA July BETA drivers.
In normal "busy starter zones" we are averaging about 60 fps running on Max Everything. She is playing on a 26 inch wide screen 1080p and I have a 34 inch Visio HD TV also 1080p. She gets about 3-5 fps more than me because my card has to work harder. What I have noticed, is the usual culprit. Shadows. Shadows off give me about 8-10fps more. Various sliders also helped me gain more fps. So while people will probably have some issues at lauch, it's nothing the sliders probably cant fix. |

I cant bilieve that anyone is trying to base the performance off of a stress test that thye admitted said " Hey we will be stressing the shit out of these servers and will be conductign patching WHILE ur playing that will also put a bog on your computer" Yes your right ur computer can handle this game. Yes u should upgrade your computer and because ur computer is so out of date it will put even more stress on your computer then a newer one everyone knows this. I suggest not basing any of your opinions on a game that your cough beta testing. |

game performance is hit or miss it seems with some systems . Im running a OC fx 6100 4.3 6 core and dual 6970s and I get okay performance , def not great but by no means bad either. I try to keep vertical sync on so i get a constant 60 frames which is plenty for your eyes not to notice. In large world vs world battles the frames never change hardly even with major particle effects but sometimes it pve zones with a lot going on it gets down to crawling at like 10 frames per a second. I think what your seeing is they havent done a final pass in the graphics code yet so there is still some buggy area's and spells that take a lot out of your computer. I would say dont expect this sort of stuff done before release as people have to /bug report it and then they fix it . |

I played BW 1 and 2, here's my specs, settings and fps.
i5 3.10 GHz 8.00 GB GTX 460
Everything on lowest settings. 10- 35 FPS depends on if I was near another player. I can max out BF3 with 50 FPS, so the low FPS was only excusable by people saying that the game was in a beta state which wasn't using my gfx card or something. |
