I been looking over GW2 for a while then saw WvWvW and started reading. OMG! It might as well be DAoC2 to some extent. Did the prebuy and played the last beta. Money well spent. At least IMO.... Graphics look good - check Lots of detail - check Nice story lines to follow - check Character creation fun - check (still figuring out what all the questions do, but like it) Mix and match race and professions- check More fun in PVP then WoW - CH3CK No monthly fee - CH3CK The list goes on..... I tryed GW and for the life of me could not get into it. GW2 seemed like a easy fit to me. My brother was very impressed as well. He noticed the lag and stuff and started nit picking... Told him that why its called STRESS TEST BETA and not final release. If I remeber right the devs do run debugging tools in the back gorund to gather data which they use to see where things need to be tweeked to make everything smoother. After the beta was over, the next day I went into WoW... I loged after 5min. Just could not do it.....the 5min seemed like hours. The fun gage I used to determin how much fun a game is with a clock. How long will I play before relaizing I been playing for hours and not minutes. I played most of Saturday. Had mass things to do. I got nothing done I needed to. Had fun tho.... I was very impressed. thumbs up...

Agreed,,,Looks to be a very good game. Lots of hidden puzzles, mini-games, pvp, dynamic events, and just plain fun....about time we got something that was decent. |

The questionnaire you get from character creation is to determine what path of storyline you follow. It's quite nifty and interesting actually. Take for example of 2 Asura characters I made.
First one dealt with solving the problem of who was behind the sabotage behind the Golem I entered in a contest. Second one was about an invention a gadget that was stolen from me.
And like you said, money well spent indeed! Cannot wait for one more month! |

So no matter what I answer in the questionair does not effect my skills and profession? Its just for a story? The world we know is going away http://www.graystatemovie.com/ |

Originally posted by Thornz2000 Ya, the questionair effects your personal story, and thus your personal instance (your own area within your race's capital city that changes depending on how you proceed through your personal storyline). It also determines where you start in your personal story. Really changes the storyline up quite a bit from character to character. |

Honestly I was very disappointed during all the previous beta weekends. Then this past weekend I joined the cabal I had been playing TSW with in the W-v-W-v-W and I must say that was what sold me. The PVP in TSW reminded me alot of the PVP from SWG, It was caotic, grand in scale and fun. Once I tried the GW2 WvW that all changed. The WvW is too much fun. Having clear objectives and running around with a group of firends dropping siege weapons and taking castles its a blast. My only two complaints are being more of the fantasy genre which iI am fairly burned out on, and that release is another month away =D. |

Originally posted by pfcgriff One of the biggest strengths of GW2 IMO is that there are so many different dimensions to the game, and they all seem implemented pretty well. There's basically something for everyone. Don't like battlegrounds but like PvP? There's WvW. Want more of a guided/story experience while leveling? There's the personal story. Don't want personal story messing with your experience? You can ignore it. ... Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

Originally posted by Creslin321 Agreed. Unlike many games which usually have one new/unique or special thing and then ignore everything, GW2 appears to be solid all around. And unlike many games which force you to experience their game via one or two methods (story-line in SWTOR and gear grinding in WOW), GW2 allows it splayers to experience the game in anyway they want. I think a lot of people, more than usual, are going to be paying attention to August and September. Everyone is going to want to see how many copies GW2 sells, then see if the game is (long-term) fun to play... then people will want to see how many copies MoP sells in comparison/context to GW2. I predict that MoP will be the worst selling wow expansion since wow was released. Grant it, I'm referrignn to sales in NA and EU; MoP is obviously catering to wow's largest crowd, players in Asia (primarily in China). I guess time will tell. |

I tryed again last night. Went into WoW and about 10min later had to log. I could not take it. I felt tortured. I looked for real PVP and could not find it. Only BG's with bots and ppl yammering how wonderful they was in the arena (fighting in a closet basically). So in the mean time will be playing TF2, World of Tanks(its free and not bad) till Aug 25th. Its the Maxtix out there people.... we need to wake up the WoW players up so they realize they swallowed the wrong pill. The world we know is going away http://www.graystatemovie.com/ |

But now - an A-Rated MMO comes along with free to Play from the start, a non-abusive cash-shop and the promise from a credible company of sustained ongoing support - a trick they have pulled out of their hat previously.... .... computer GAME changer quite possibly, financial model game changer, oooh yes! |
