less than 9 billion LFD tools are great for cramming people into content, but quality > quantity. |

Best case scenario - a bit more than 1 million - 1.200k, may be. Worst case scenario - 700k. |

3.1 Million! http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/357288/page/1
My prediction is GW2 will hit 3 Million in the first month and then climb to 4.5-5 Million sales by mid October (2 months).
$60 for the amount of content that they provide puts console games to shame. Even if you have no plans to play GW2 exclusively, it makes no sense to skip this game. GW2 is on par for value with Skyrim. Seriously. Continued sales will all come down to word of mouth after the initial sales, but I expect more people will like or love GW2 than dislike or hate it which will drive sales.
I also expect GW2 to be a big Xmas gift item for Xmas 2012. |

Official statistics? *shrug* may be. But I don't think all of them will end up buying; and I don't think a lot of people who haven't preordered will. |

1-2 million, possibly after 2 months, but no more.
By the end of the year it might have shipped close to 5 million copies, but I'm predicting closer to 3 million.
I'd like to see it do 3-5million in 2 months, but that's completely unrealistic, and I'd like to see it reach close to 10million within a year, but my dog would sooner legally drive a car before that happens. |

The first Guild Wars has sold around 7 million copies. I think that eventually GW2 will beat that. Im gonna go with 3 million in first month. |

By October 31, 2012 (Halloween), Total Box Sales 4.36 Million! :) I think at least 2.4 million by the end of launch week, with positive word of mouth driving ongoing sales. A lot of people who play this game are going to love it and once they play it enough to really get it, they will be able to properly communicate to friends who haven't heard of it, or who decided to skip it, why they should buy it and play it! Also, with no subscription fee, this is an MMO you can give as a gift, with out implying the need for an ongoing monthly subscription commitment. I know I will be gifting the game to a few gamers I know and I think others will be doing so as well. Want to know more about GW2 and why there is so much buzz? Originally posted by gestalt11 whoops! I meant over 1 million pre-purchases at the beginning of June. It was for NCSofts quarterly, so they didnt mention numbers except for the sales numbers. Id say there are a ton of pre-orders too, because of Amazon giving 3 day access to pre-orders. |

I think 3 million is reasonable. We know that the game hit 1 million pre-orders within a few days of pre-orders being available. Since then, I think the beta has generated a lot of positive buzz for the game, so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there were already 1.5-2 million pre-orders by the time the game is released in August. So with that in consideration, getting another million in 2 months doesn't really seem unreasonable. Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

By the end of October? I would say 2.5 million. Then again, I have no clue what the count is at now even. Either way, by the end of this year I expect A LOT of box sales. |
