Originally posted by karat76 I hadnt realized it til I read a few replies like this, but it is spot on. I didnt once see spam in chat, no profanity(filter off), no insults...generally questions were met with reasonable answers. People were good about rezing others mid fight and supporting other players when possible in events. Beta communities are always better than release, but with memories of the Tera beta and release still fresh, its a huge difference and hopefully hints at whats to come.
I purposely didnt take any character much past 10 to avoid replaying content when it goes live, but I really dont know how people can say the game is lacking compared to any other $60 purchase. I know everyone wants to compare it to every other mmo out there, but the idea that I am not being preasured to judge the game based on continuing to pay a monthly fee makes me appreciate it much more for what it is...a Action-RPG with great multiplayer features.
At the risk of being flamed, I say compare what you get from this to the Biggest Action-RPG release in some time, Diablo 3. I get it, they are different, but for the point im making they are similar enough. Now tell me that GW2 doesnt have a significant amount of content and features compared to this big budget title that most who picked up day 1 have already shelved. It will take months see all the attractions and ride all the rides in GW2, much more than I can say for D3.
Well, thats my take away from this weekends Beta. I knew I was going to buy this but now I am looking forward to it more.... Take Care. |

I like "grinds" and spending time to earn things. I like the tradeskills. Of course the game's not going to be balanced... they're "trying too hard to be different" getting away from the class trinity just because "people" say that's what they want, but none of these "people", nor these devs know how to do that. It's probably the same "people" who stand around roleplaying during a beta wherein they're supposed to be bug reporting and trying to "break the game". |

Originally posted by Kaelano1 Are you kidding? RPers report the hell out of things. They have a much higher incidence of being annoyed by typos, and I know I personally did at least 3 bug reports just based off of misspellings. Not to mention the animation bug for the male sylvari sleeping emote, a few places where I fell into cracks you can't get out of... A person can take a break to RP and still report bugs like crazy. I like how you use quotes for people, as if people who RP are some sort of subhuman beasts you can't even call people with a straight face. :) ... and the way character roles work in GW2 work just fine. Had a lot of fun with all sorts of teamwork, doing content several levels higher where literally one missed usage of an aegis or blind could spell instant downed state, alternating skills and knocking enemies away from each other. :) It helps that we weren't spending the whole game being really bitter and rude, probably. That takes up a lot of time that makes it hard to figure out new playstyles. |

Judging by your post history you're a fairly bitter guy. I'm sorry GW2 doesn't meet your tastes. If spending days repeating the same content to the point that its muscle memory is earning your keep, then thats your cup. I'll admit to liking GW2 and on that front we're obviously at an extreme disagreement, but at this point you've kind of gone from stating dislike to attempting to bash the game and all those who like it. If like of GW2 makes me a lesser being than you, I submit. If your slurry of heated opinions, and thats all they are, drive you to keep coming back to throw insults, feel free. But its not making you out to be some all-knowing, or even believable, base for judging a game review and I can really see why anyone coming across you in game would choose not to talk with you. |

Why do you even bother creating threads like this? Nobody cares about your opinion, never will. Are you just hoping that the game will fail because YOU called it boring? Else I really don't see a reason for this. |

Obviously the OP has a point, for people that belong to the archiever cattegory rewards are a must.. If there are no rewards, they will become unhappy. This is the game most other MMO´s cater to most, while GW2 caters to them least. Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) |

Originally posted by Kaelano1 Opinions are just that which is why I didn't quote it but I'm curious at what makes this true. Dear developers, In my humble and inexperienced opinion if I can get through all the content you spent the last 5+ years working on within 6 months you have not done your work justice. Please give me, and everyone else, some tools to create our own content from what you have made so I can stay in your world and appreciate it longer than three weeks before I say "meh". It's a shame and I'd rather not do that to something you put so much of yourself in to. |
