Originally posted by evilastro Yeah man. Thats how things should be and remain for a long time. The alternative to this would be to creating a single thread for reviews/criticism or whatever and move every post into that huge big thread where most words are not read, nobody cares or bothers and no sort of communication and ultimate idea is bridged. So yeah man, we really need to keep the freedom to state opinions, good or bad, for it is better than the perversion of it. And creating new topics is the BEST WAY TO DO SO, for the Topic Title is Always Read and the OP has a decent chance of being read. After a post get a dozens of repplies every message after it sort of loses its efficiency and the whole point of keep posting ends up being to keep the initial messages/title/op relevant to new people that will be subjected to it. Thats how it works, and many people dont even read what other people say, they just talk and when they repply, they just bump topics. When I first started on internet forums I would spend hours reading until I realized that communication is goal oriented. |

I enjoyed the BWE more than I have enjoyed any other MMO in a long time. Only reason I am not playing now is that my goal for the weekend was I wanted to look at each profession and starting area. I stil have tons of things to discover and play with come release and can say that I have no regrets on my preorder |

I feel with you bro, atleast in some points. I think GW2 is an awesome game, many will love it but i wont play it at release. Im not a big PVE player, so i tried PVP, i loved the 5v5's and the whole system is really great, its not about gear, its really how you play ur class. Sadly i got bored after a few hours, sometimes it felt like a zerg fest, where everyone is just bashing buttons. Maybe im just burned out and i should try something else, like FPS or RTS, and try the game after a few months after launch. “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” |

Originally posted by Interesting I cant tell if you are being facetious or not. There are dozens of threads all with the same statement clogging up the feed, essentially just paraphrased. If the OP feels the same as them, he should contribute to an existing thread, not start a new one. I don't care if they dislike the game, everyone has their own personal taste and I am not here to convert players to my way of thinking. I just dont think we need a hundred threads all saying the same thing. The discussion would be better served in a single thread. |

Originally posted by Slampig Where did I say that the OP was clueless? You are just making up your own arguements for the sake of it at this point. I don't care if anyone hates GW2 with a passion or doesn't buy it. I just think there are enough threads to add your opinion to already without starting a new one every time someone cancels a pre-order. |

Originally posted by evilastro People make threads all the time and noone is accusing them of trying to covert the way they are thinking now are they. Perhaps we don't need a billion threads on why people like games. Anyway, if you do not agree with me fine, no problem. Everyone has a right to their own opinion which clearly this was mine. If you don't like my opinion then I can't help you there. That is a part of being on forums, learning to respect others opinions. |

Originally posted by Jackdog I'm with you on this. Well, I'm not retired yet but I am 41 and I thoroughly love the art and graphics here. Everything feels hand painted, with brush strokes, including the UI. It's very pleasing to my eye and I keep finding myself sucked into this world and just wandering around looking at different areas in awe. Not everyone's cup of tea, but certainly not restricted to the enjoyment of any single age bracket. . |

Originally posted by Aerowyn The Asura animations are *amazing* as well. Both them and the Sylvari really surprised me to be honest. I'm totally not sure what I'm gonna decide to go with first. I think it might actually be the first MMO where I'll be leveling multiple characters at once. |

Over?? Not at all, i just cant wait to be able to log whenever i want .. And yes, i dont understand this users that feel the need of opening a thread everytime they dont like a game, not only about GW2 but about all games. Just dont play when you dont like :). But there will always be ppl that are never happy about anything. |

Two perfectly good contributors to the mmorpg genre are TSW and Tera, both at opposite ends of the genre with one being fantasy and the other a gothic/vampire style game. Not to mention the 100s of f2p titles out on the market. Nothing else lol

My gosh stop bashing people just cause they don't like a game. They are entitled to their own feelings.
On topic... This game rocks. |

To me, from what I played, it was fun. I tried out a few classes and races to see starting area and how they play.
I don't think it's the greatest thing, it's definitely not the worst.
IMO if your a person whose life doesn't revolve around whatever mmo your playing and you want something to do for an hour or 2 a few times a week, it's a safe bet. A big plus is no monthly fees.

Sorry you did not like it, thanks for sharing. Good thing you have choices. As far as the bashing going on; it's a symptom resulting from dealing with a countless number of posts from individuals blogging personal opinions regarding games as opposed to creating a thread with an objective topic. Forums have gone from discussions about "things" to the airing of peoples "feelings." Personally when I read the OP my first thought was... Uhh so what... some random guy doesn't like it. The scary part is one day the world will be run by adults who were never spanked as kids and got trophies just for participating. |

My days have just started... the first GW was an average lobby game, definitely not a MMORPG, didn't hold me for long. The second is a gem, possibly the best MMORPG I've played since Asheron's Call. I must say that when I saw the name of the topic poster, considering his history here, I was expecting another mindless game bashing post. Yet he expressed his dislike with respect, I can respect that in return, best luck with whatever game you will play next! |

Originally posted by Mephster Once again, not sure where you are getting that I don't respect your opinion, or that I said you were trying to convert people. Look at what I actually wrote. Like I have said repeatedly, it doesn't bother me in the slightest that you dislike the game. What is annoying however is when the thread gets clogged up with these pointless 'I expected more from the game so I am cancelling my pre-order' threads. There are dozens of posts on the first few pages that you could have added your opinion to instead, rather than create a new topic - which isnt really a new topic as it is already being discussed elsewhere. Which was the point of my post. For the record, I havent seen any threads about people saying 'I just tried the beta and I am still keeping my pre-order'. They are busy discussing aspects of the game, rather than making pointless posts about whether or not they are buying the game. |
