there are certain evils while playing mmos.. it takes too much times, and this one isnt worth the sacrafice. i personally canceled my  preoders, because if i get bored now, i know i will be on release too,

i wont even get to the points, where skills should do 50 damage, and does 12.. how does that make past alpha..will get fixed eventually, but that doesnt make them any favors. and other classes hits for 150 at same or lower lvls, i feel balancing is way off.

Why is it that fantasy trolls are vulnerable to fire, but internet trolls thrive on flame wars?

Oh dear GOD that is a problem with a lot of the dynamic quests.  Its not a major game breaking problem, but it is definitely a gripe I have with the game.

Since when is Tuesday a direction?

Ok look guys, i created this thread just to troll Comae13 :D.  I didnt expect this thread has this many comment :D But anyway, imo, this game is a really good game i've ever play so far in a long time. It is a lot different than any other mmo i played before. I'm tired of running around in other mmos just to find a NPC that give Q, i'm tired of grinding to max lvl just to enjoy all the game contents. GW2 is diferent. It lets u do everything you want in the game wherever you are and no matter what your lvl is. GW2 makes me want to play, not like any other game, i almost quit before i can get to max lvl. When ever i feel bore with questing or dynamic event, i jump into arena and spvp, if i get bore again, i jump into wvw, if i get bore again, i do the personal story. There's a lot of things you can do in this game, not like any other games where you have to work your ass off. Especially in GW2, i really love the personal story. How many games out there that make you really want to get involve into the main story? Some of my guild mates in other mmo, after they get to max lvl, i asked them what was going on in the main story, they had no idea, they didn't even do it, they max lvl for 6 months and they didn't even do half the story Q.

This game is downright amazing and anyone who says otherwise has way to high expectations. I played GW1 for like 7 days so I am not a fanboy, but this game is the best game to be released in the last 10 years. Period.

It isn't expectations that are too high.  It's just that this game, contrary to the claims of ANet, really is just more of the same with some slight modifications.  Some people are tired of more of the same.

It's well polished.  But it continues the trend of themepark games in streamlining and separating systems in the game, making it have a very gamey feel, not a virtual world feel.  It's another casual, MMO-lite game.

Bumbling around the world, stumbing into quests, doesn't feel like exploration or self-direction.  It just feels like... bumbling around the world, stumbling into quests.  Repetitive quests at that.  Nothing really dynamic, and not really affecting the gameworld in a substantive way.

Besides, the DEs are not something played WITH other people, they are played AROUND other people.  Big difference there.

One word to describe GW2: Over-rated.

How did you do it in other mmorpgs? I found it irritating having my mobs stolen or trying to get a final vulture liver, and not being able to because 20 people were doing the same quest.

Not one thing is holding you back from starting a group of friends to explore the world and control the "bumbling" as you call it. This is an mmo-rpg, and the rpg is where the game is awesome. Those who are looking for guidance, and those who need complete hand holding to have fun shouldn't play.

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

There are a ton of static mobs and NPCs in the game, hanging out (or spawning) in the same areas of the same zones perpetually.  Of course, very few games have true mob migration, but overall GW2 is just about as static as the next game, despite the claims.

Beyond that, it's as trite a solo-based casual MMO as any other available on the market today.

And thats the way it has to be, all MMOs have mobs etc spawning in the same place. The thing with GW2 is that they make it FEEL more alive and APPEAR as if the NPCs and mobs are not static. And they are not static as in SWTOR static where there are just groups of 3 mobs all lines up standing still - they may spawn in the same place in GW2 but they do move around....a lot. I am yet to see a mob just spawn and stand there waiting for someone to kill it.

I highly doubt you have even played the game or if you have quit after 5 minutes because I don't see how anyone who put decent time into this game could make those claims

I've played each of the BWEs, though not much this time because I simply cannot stomach the vacuous gameplay anymore.  Unfortunately, I pre-purchased.

It's called a difference of opinion.  GW2 basically offers pretty much the same thing other games do, with some modifications.  In a genre where systems and mechanics are continuously dumbed-down, GW2 continues the trend.  I don't think it's a terrible game, but I also don't think it's as revolutionary as some are trying to make it appear.

We'll at least you'll have TSW to play. In fact shouldn't you be playing that rather than posting here?

One word to describe GW2: Over-rated.

how the zones are designed with enviornment/npc movement and mobs how they are rarley ever just static placeholders I get more of a virtual world feeling from this game than any other MMO I have ever played

Because if someone has a different opinion then you they shouldn't post right?

Seems for some reason when it comes to this game lots of people are wearing rose colored glasses....

Don't get me wrong I mean I like it too but it seems anyone says anyting negative about it people just flip out....

I don't have problems with people not liking GW2 for whatever their reasons but so many of these posts are obviously made by people who have never played the game, never plan on playing it, and are just here to bash it for whatever reason.

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

Any fool can know. The point is to understand.

Almost.

Almost perfect.

Almost all the things a player could want.

Almost a revolution in mmos.

Although I feel like something is missing there is more than enough to do that makes up for that something missing. Personally I want to see more pronounced changes in my home section in town.

I think the missing piece is me not finishing my personal story. As progress is cut short it seems obvious that it feels unfinished.

Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play?
