I'm having a hard time seeing past the dorky combat mechanics, but the world design and the mission goals are pretty interesting so far. It's not in my "gotta play" catagory, but for the price, I don't regret being curious enough to buy it. |

Originally posted by thekid1 While there are some bugs, this is one of the best launches I have played since the dawn of MMO time. The bugs are very tolerable, and Funcom is working through them. I wouldn't let that bother anyone unless you are OCD about it. If that's the case, I don't know how you game at all. Any Hype this game is receiving is coming from the players themselves who are loving the game. In fact, I would say that Funcom should be doing a lot more advertising than they are based on how successful the game has been from a fun and playability standpoint. My 2 cents on this game is that I am really, really enjoying it. The game world puts other themeparks to shame because the whole experience from visuals and atmosphere to the quests themselves is hand crafted. Ths game is gorgeous, and there really isn't a reason to re-roll a character unless you really want one that looks different. This game needs some inspiration in the PvP department, but I think Funcom is getting enough feedback in that regard that they will end up addressing it. It's not "horrible", but it's also not anywhere near as fun as GW2. Since I am bringing GW2 up, I'll add that I think the PvE in TSW is far more interesting and engaging than GW2. PvE GW2 is going to feel like an evolutionary, not revolutionary, step in MMO design, but it's still going to be way too familiar for anyone who has been playing recent themeparks. All I can think about is Star Citizen. |

I haven't had so much fun in a game since EQ. I have enjoyed my new life in TSW. i even bought the lifetime. The experience has been worth the price of admission.

If you have to ask should I or shouldn't I, then the answer is shouldn't. Do some more reading, watch videos, try to get a buddy key. I like the game but I would never try to convince someone to buy something based on my likes. |

I'm still considering the GM pack, but i have no rush on it, and i have to think if i want the stipend on item-shop that come with subscription. The game has nowhere near the hype most major releases have had in the past 5 years, nowhere near the levels of AoC, much less those os SWTOR, so hype is not a problem people considering the game should worry about much.
Majority of player reviews of the game are very positive, and more importantly... being a FC game, and with all the huge hate train it had long before release (being a FC game and FC having a hate bandwaggon of huge proportions) there's little forum activity agianst the game. That's telling.
By now AoC was being flamed in here on epic proportions. The little sustained negativity is telling.
FC will publish their first update before the free month ends for the launch day players, which is a nice move. they could have gone the usual "you wanna see anything new, you pay for a new month" They have sorted most bugs, and are working on the ones that still are there. losing sub to chat channels and having to resub manually after major zonning is currently the most notorious one. They have a very good laid out plan for monthly updates, and as time passes they will have to deal less with post launch fixes (present in every single MMO) and will have more resources for their monthly "issues" with new content. we'll see how that works. In any case, those that might want to know better before buying (a regular game costs more and has less content for the box price) should try and grab a buddy key. Even if i consider it a good game i know it's not for everyone, and some people might not enjoy it. Heck i know people that has stated the game is very good, but it's not for them. |

After playing TSW I've gone back to ToR and am enjoying the ingame freedom. I think that tells you what TSW is like...

It's the first MMO in years I've found to be worth bothering with. Original Lord of the Rings Online was my last interest. It has a nice balance of being cautiously solo while alerting people that grouping would make things go smoother. I think it's the first theme park to ever strike that balance, most are all simple to solo with a few group quests.
I do like this game and have no concerns about end game. After all, I have a variety of skill set ups to play around with and two other main storylines to look at. |

It's a good game. Worth every bit of 50 bucks atm. Your a gamer. This is what gamers do, we buy games and we play them. Don't worry about 3+ months from now. Enjoy it while it's hot. This game has 1 month of content built in already easily for 50 dollars, and that's if your playing it 6-8 hours a day. :D BigCountry | Head Hunters | www.wefarmpeople.com |

That tells me nothing, but it certainly puzzles me. I've played both games, and my experience was totally the opposite. I'd love to know where you found more "freedom" in SW:TOR. To each his own, I guess...
The chat disconnect bug bothers me far less that the dicky Gear Manager. I typically stay in one zone during a play session, so I only have channel disconnect issues if I decide to pop over to the bank in London. There's a player GUI mod that apparently works very well for saving and recalling skill decks (actives/passives only), so I'll be trying that today as an interim solution. Talismans and weapons are easy to swop manually. |

Actually straight up fucking hilarious now that I think about it. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. Originally posted by Wickedjelly That's true, it doesn't bother me as much as i resave my builds first thing when i log in, and it only drops gear (always the same pieces per build) after logging in, so i take a minute or two starting my session and i'm set for the day.
Also there has been a solution, in the form of a custom UI manager mod that worked correctly. that's why it didn't come to my mind, but's something they gotta sort out properly. |

Hi there, I do have the same concerns, and unfortunately I haven't made the Beta so...
Any nice soul to share a "recommend to a friend" 24 hours trial key please ?
Cheers,
