Was interested until I read Mythic/Bioware... "I am not in a server with Gankers...THEY ARE IN A SERVER WITH ME!!!" |

I am both exhilarated and horrified by this.
On one hand the Ultima series is by far my favorite game series of all time, on the other hand Bioware/EA is a truly frightful combination that is perfectly capable of churning out a big 'F U' to this legendary series.
It could be glorious or it could be a mockery, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
The fact that Richard Garriott isn't involved is hugely suspect considering he basically is the Ultima series. I can't even imagine how he feels about this game being made without him... "Lady British"?...... that's just obnoxious.

"Just like the Bioware RPGs you know and love"
You mean... the linear, hand holding, scripted RPGs with no actual choice or alignment in them? Bioware ruined SWTOR. Then they ruined DAoC. Now they have to do Ultima?
Ultima is dead. Long live Ultima. |

Three reasons to stay away from this game: 1. EA 2. Bioware/Mythic 3. Paul Barnett. Even ignoring the first two, Paul Barnett is reason enough to stay away from anything he is connected to. Just check out all the videos of him hyping WAR prior to its release. Then checkout the infamous presentation of Wrath of Heroes where he basically admit that every aspect of WAR apart from PvP scenarios was just a long boring grind and waste of time. Paul Barnett is the game industry equivalent of a car salesman trying to sell you a '69 Dodge Charger in mint condition, when in reality it is just a huge chunk of corroed metal with a new paint job. |

Not exactly a fan of the character models. I'm not sure what art style that looks like, but is sure as Hell looks nothing like Ultima. - vigilo confido - |

If it was just Mythic involved, I wouldn't be that worried.
But Gods... EA and Bioware, kings of casual. They'll ruin what once was a classic. Anyone ever been to the Camelot Herald recently? There's no mention of Mythic ANYWHERE on the website for the game MADE BY MYTHIC. Bioware is plastered over everything, advertising their new quests with "moral choices". |

Was excited at first when I saw the Ultima headline. Then I read the article and threw up in my mouth. Good set up for them though, seems to be the kind of game they can actually handle .... |

How about putting more effort into making Warhammer Online into the game that it should have been instead of churning out yet another cash shop with a thinly veiled F2P game tacked over the top of it |

Sounds like they are merely cashing in on name recognition. And it's not this and it's not that, but not a lot of talk on exactly what it is.
Color me skeptical at the moment. |

So they sat on the property since EA aquired Origin and relinquished Richard Garriott from it and had plenty of time to do something interesting with Ultima and this is what they come up with? Bioware handling it no less? I find it hard to believe this is even cashing in on name recognition anymore. We've gone almost 15 years without there being anything new in the way of Ultima with the most recent being Ultima Online and it's expansions. There is a whole new wave of gamers who don't even know or care what Ultima. I can't wait to see how they plan to make money from this. They're not making this out of the goodness of their hearts. On a side note, boy does it turn my stomach to see Bioware's logo slung over DAoC's and UO's website. |

Of all the games I have ever thought were doomed, this is probably the most doomed, or doomiest. Enter a whole new realm of challenge and adventure. |
