Originally posted by Sebber Score on Metacritic 72/100... and this means? They gave SWTOR 85 (with user score 5.6; btw user score on TSW there is 8.7). Some issues are a matter of taste, and things are better or worse just because of your own opinion. I am having lots of fun playing TSW. You don't? Ok, normal, and better that way. We can't all have the same tastes. |

FEEL THE HATE FLOW THROUGH YOU! So many trolls that haven't played the game and hate it with a passion. I won't be playing TSW past the first month but it still has the best quests in any MMO I have played to date. The quests are that good that when I do actually come across a quest that is just "kill 10 of these" i let out a massive sigh because those quests suck so much. The quests in TSW make me actually give a shit about the lore and the game world in general. People saying that there is no replay value but there is replay value in a WoW quests system, what is the difference between zooming through an investigation you have already done and zooming through a kill 10 quillboars quest? NOTHING they both hold the same value of being repeated content. Suggesting user generated quests is nice and all but look at the majority of the quests in Infamous2, they allowed UGC and while there are some nice missions most of them are broken or downright horrible. Also to the guy that said TERA is more fun, sure the combat may be but that starter zone where the NPC's don't even speak, and they ask you to kill the same mob for hours on end only in different areas it has a different name, same skin, same everything. Give me a break. ![]() |

Now the DE bring some fresh wind to it IF you actually are lucky and it starts while you are doing some of the most boring quests ever and even if you are lucky most of them are just about a horde of mobs attacking or 1 big mob spawning and the players zerg them down rinse repeat. There are some better DE which are really fun i guess we could say the better DE are like the investigation quests in TSW they are there and they are fun but its not what you will encounter most of the time. |

Out of all the MMO's I've played in the last 10 years, TSW has the best quests and questing system I have seen. The fact that almost every single quest is directly related to the lore and overall story is really refreshing, and makes even the few fed-ex quests bearable. The quests are not random standalone XP-delivery mechanisms, they fit the story flow and enrich it. Even some of the minor quests in Kingsmouth deal with themes that you will see again later in other zones. If you don't care about the lore or story in the game, this fact will be lost on you.

I really don't get this solo-thing people are complaining about. I seem to end up in a team no matter if I wanted or not. People say it's a solo game and won't group up, then whine about having to do it all alone. Whats up with that? Game sure is solo friendly, which might be a good thing if you start out later and the Solomon Islands have quited down a bit. This game has a great community and it's a joy to play with them. Few nights ago I was alone in the woods, when I got surrounded by a swarm of these giant carnivore moths. I tried to run, but they wouldn't let me...I had to fight and I knew I wouldn't make it. I got few of them down but I was hurt, my vision started to blur, I'm knocked to the ground, blood everywhere. But it's not my blood, it's a wall of blood surrounding me, covering me from the bugs and before I'm even able to stand again, a stream of blood is surging from behind my back, stunning these creatures enough for me to gather myself up and finish them. I turn around and see a familiar cross decorating the shoulder of my saviour, a fellow templar. So we teamed up and finished off rest of the bugs, and the world was a safer place because of us. And so on...by the way, I play on a RP dimension. And now that I have derailed from my own post, and can't remember my original point...I wish you all a happy new year and lots of dark days to come. Not tonight dear...I have a haddock! |

I voted undecided, mostly because i'm not playing. But the thing is, there's no best quest system. It's all a matter of opinion. I never even played the older mmos to know how they did them. Regarding the whole TSW vs GW2 thing, that's what i'm talking about. Some like one more than the other for their own reasons, and they're valide of course. I like DE because i don't have to talk to a quest giver, jump in, do my thing and it scales. I like TSW's missions because ofthe cutscenes, the immersive factor, the "investigative" factor many quests ahve, including item and action and sabotage. I place TSW above GW2 and other mmorpgs for now simply because of the investigation missions. Are they the majority of the game? Nope, but to me, the simple fact they're actually different from the "kill, fetch, escort" is enough for me. However, that doesn't mean i find missions to be the greatest ever. Just different and good enough. |

It's not just the investigations though, even many of the item and action quests have fun little puzzle diversions to them.
Simple things like you stumble on a corpse, pick up a quest and it has you follow a trail of blood to the culprit. Other games would have that back at a quest hub you would pick it up with a shopping list of 10 other quests and just have a go kill this monster with a big x indiscriminate if 10 other big xs on the map telling you exactly where to go. You don't play the map in tsw. Another important element compared to say swtor (and I hear modern wow) its way less linear. It's not go a hub, pick up a ton of quests, run around grinding them, go back get another ton of quests sending you the same place but to kill fierce bears instead of angry bears, go back, get a quest to send you next hub, rinse, repeat. The way it limits you in quests you can take and has you go your own path around the zones, the way it has hidden quests tucked away in caves, the way it has quests that arent presented as quests, like the safe with the league of monster slayers. The way everyone tagging named mobs, the way event type quests like the zombies attacking the police station scale up with players taking part. All these things make the quest system very good. Investigations are the icing on the cake. Even without them it would have the best quest system I've seen. P.s. I like gw2 pvp also, for similarly getting rid off this hub based, shopping list against the map gameplay. But its not as good as tsw. Will see at release, I think it will be number 2 in this regard (but has greater strengths than tsw elsewhere, namely pvp) |

Well this has become quite the conversation. Seems some of you feel that GW2 has better questing because its quests change the world around you. I cant speak to that because I cant play it yet, so I will not comment on something I cant play yet. I have to say I dont expect the GW2 quests have quests that require you to solve various forms of riddles. The fact you actally have to pay attention and think is what makes us that enjoy TSW's quests. I dont mean this as a dig for you GW2 fans but if you want a game where you can change the world you should perhaps try EvE. I have played EvE off and on since launch and you cant cant find a better game for wanting to see yourself changing the world around you. |

I havent played the game but but one of my friends is playiing the game. According to him the questing is unique, makes you think, puzzle solving, and not something you can do in couple min. I may think about playing the game. ***Looks forward to Kate Beckinsale in another movie!!!***
All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care. |

Originally posted by DarkWays This is a fallacy. Gw2 dynamic events may change the world for a bit but its all cyclical so in fact the event will reset to the beginning again after a while. And most i ve sen of the quests within these de Are fetch, x, kill y, gather z, etc Pvp is very cool though |

Personally I voted yes. Sure, there are plenty of Fed-Ex and Kill Y of X quests, but until another game has me looking into the real website of a fictitious company (created by funcom) to look for how to repair something, and then having to look for how to transcribe and translate morse code, it gets my vote as best quests so far. And BTW, that's from someone that has pre-purchased GW2 and is really excited for it. Seriously, some posts here make it sound like that in order for you to like one game you're supposed to hate every other game and find them really bad with no redeeming qualities. And in this particular case it's something I'm seeing on both sides of the fence. What can men do against such reckless hate? |

I think this game has the best questing in an overall sense of any MMO released to date. And I only got halfway through Savage Coast. SWTOR is the greatest mmo ever! |

Originally posted by L0C0Man Good points in your last paragraph. I didn't enjoy the BWEs in TSW too much but don't hate the game one bit, and may eventually play it. I whole wholeheartedly agree about being able to like more than one game at a time. Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. |
