to me no housing is a real killjoy.
i am happy to hear that "open exploration will be encouraged" that sounds like a nod toward making it a world rather than just a game but not being able to have a home, especially after skyrim, is 10 degrees of fail... RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid. Currently Playing EVE, POTBS Recommendation of a game you probably haven't tried: POTBS, Atlantica, L2 |

I never understood fuss about ES in general. Always was empty world of nothing, never seen worse and more unnatural moving of avatars, fighting rat at level 1 was same epic battle as fighting rat at i.e. 20. etc etc ... I.e. Two worlds was always light years better. However I hope online ES will be much better so i guess will give it a try. Because idea and lore is great. |

Originally posted by Beermangler I can settle for factions personally, only because its trying to parlay that into a 3 sided struggle and PvP experience. I do agree with you though, TESO would of been better off as open ended and let players be free to join the faction of their choice. |

Well you start with the art direction, which they have made a mockery of. It's a game for children and mongoloids. |

I will buy this game solely because of the setting and the fact that you can explore a lot of Tamriel. Anything else that I like is extra. I am just curious...if yet another major MMO release from a well known developer fails, will that mean that developers won't bother with MMOs in the future because the whole concept of an MMO might be broken? |

Honestly I expect this to be a bastardization of everything Elder Scrolls. This will in fact be the very first game with the Elder Scrolls name on it I will not buy, and in fact will avoid like the plague. What a damn waste of money on another carbon copy WOW clone that will be shut down in a year after launch anyway. JeroKane: In TSW your gear has NO stats whatsoever! But only via trinkets and talismans. Myself: Please, stop posting, I can't breath I'm laughing so hard at that statement. |

Games sounds good so far, can't wait to get into some gameplay. Let the kitty tears rain down some more, this is great. |

Originally posted by fivoroth It'll hopefully prove that the whole WoW clone concept is broken. But knowing publishers, they won't learn. After the last 7 or so WoW clones collapsed, they still haven't learned. |

Originally posted by Garvon3 Did anyone learn anything after SWTOR flop? Don't think so, that's because big developers do not look at the obvious, they just listen to the marketing people. And if the marketing people says that players want to play WoW clones because WoW has 12 Million players, then the developers will make a WoW clone. Nevermind the fact that since WoW has been released, every other MMO that tried to ride the popularity of Blizzard game crashed face down to the ground. But I think that Zenimax got the message..........they've been silent since E3, and I heard that Mr TES ( Todd Howard) is now more involved with the MMO. Zenimax Media should have given the developer job to Bethesda Game Studios not to Zenimax Online |

Originally posted by ste2000 Zenimax Media is Bethesda. ZeniMax Media was founded in 1999 by Bethesda Softworks founder Christopher Weaver and Robert A. Altman Bethesda developing TESO would have meant the exclusion of Fallout 3 and Skyrim. So I'm thrilled that didn't happen. That said, Bethesda should have had a larger hand in TESO all along, though I'm not sure how much difference that would have made. You have to remember that TESO has been in production since shortly after WoW launched and became the incredible success that it is, and Zenimax/Bethesda couldn't have predicted the future and where MMO's are today. |

And yet another game that takes the RP out of MMORPG. I'm not a PVPer, I prefer RPing and doing that with a good group is great. I was so hoping that the Elder Scrolls series would go MMO when I started playing Oblivion, then Skyrim. Sadly though with all the 'changes' by the devs, the RP element and the overall uniqueness of this series is shot. "And then the cheese exploded..." |
