I'm a feminist, and frankly I think it's just as sexist when people call women in revealing clothing "dressing like prostitutes". Slut-shaming is just as crappy as oversexualizing women, people. 

I find your post overly simplistic. Yeah, lots of women don't want to play a character in revealing clothing. Lots of women do. A very small portion of the starting female armors are skimpy, and there are plenty of early-level alternatives. Guild Wars 2 has a fairly progressive set of armors. There's variety, so you don't feel like you're at a Mormon convention, and you're given the choice of whether or not you want to wear something skimpy, super skimpy, or church-appropriate. And frankly, even most of the skimpy outfits are not particularily sexualized--they're revealing for both male and female characters without looking like lingerie (the starting human cloth armor being a major exception).

I think you should honestly do some research into just what the GW2 armors look like before grumbling about "I don't want to look like a prostitute". There are tons of options and you aren't forced into wearing any of them.

 

 

I never understood armor in games. Female or male...when your battling armor should reflect your environment. Why would a female or male character be wearing nothing say if you were in a enviroment with snow. Just seems ridiculous. I get the optional part of it, but never starting off. Just seems silly as hell. Another point female or male if your a heavy armor wearer then it should be reflected. Just makes no sense that heavy armor is more sexual as its not practical in the enviroment that you would find yourself in. yes I know this is a game.

I do think GW2 does a better job than most of the MMO's that I see. Just IDK just seems odd to not have clothes on when dealing with a hell spawned demon dragon that can rip your heart out...one would think you would want more armor for protection and all that. Of course I'm probably lookign way to deep into this.

And of course that's one of the very very few "armors" that look that way as the vast majority looks practical and not revealing at all.

Nice picture but again this is a prime example of what I think is wrong with armor design. Where in what land would you be wearing something like this. Perhaps maybe role playing and a villaness or something, but seriously even evil people get cold so idk. PVP a big sword is being swung at you do you really want to be wearing something like this.

This particular picture yeah I think they need to cover here up a bit, not so much because its sexual but that it's not really all that practical for the situation. I.e. you probabaly wouldnt wear a full suit of armor at the beach lol.

1.  Isn't that a Mesmer?  If so, aren't they SUPPOSED to look like that in order to fit in with their "control the enemies" gameplay style?

2.  Next time maybe you should use a female Norn pic.  They have certain...*ahem*...assets that given the armor style would make them look more sexualized.

On a side note, everyone who doesn't like "oversexualized" armor, why don't you just play as a race where oversexualized armor isn't possible, like a Charr?  Oh, sure some people find the prospect of playing as an animalistic race distasteful, but its either that or play as a race where there is at least one armor style that at least one person is going to consider "oversexualized" (that is of course if you don't want to play as a male).
