TSW sounds interesting to me and a lot of people seem to really like it. I liked SWTOR but only played for about 45 days then got burned out...rolled a ton of alts and never finished any of their story lines. Trying to decide if I should just take a flier on TSW, give SWTOR another go...or my other option which was my original plan, was to take all of July off from gaming to get caught up on my pleasure reading. Just picked up The Covenant by James Michener at the library yesterday.

after months of gaming, taking time off to catch up on the books you want to read is really good. i do that alot. it feels refreshing and you dont get borded of games to quickly if you have something to occupy your mind/time. keeps alot of games fun for months to come^^ or you can do that to till other games release. |

TSW looks like it will be a fail game and SWTOR is almost dead. Logged on during the free week to returning players and saw 5 ppl in the main city. Read a book. It will do more for you than playing mmo's which honestly is a waste of time when you consider that you wont care if you had a lvl 80 character 10 years from now. |

I want an mmorpg where pvp matters, my enemies are not my race or class, and community matters. |

Read a book.
There's a really good chance you'll find immersion, RP, and all that comes from a good story.
The Wind Through the Keyhole: A Dark Tower Novel, Stephen King (Scribner)

We basically play MMOs to waste time and be entertained.....Of those 3 options, reading a book would benefit you the most as you'd learn alot more than you would playing a MMO. |

Originally posted by sonicbrew +1 better late than never i'm reading "the game of thrones" serie, easy to read and vivid. I thought of both games but rather wait untill guild wars 2. I own SWTOR and GW2. SWOTOR made me "rethink" my consumer's habits. Wouldn't have bought GW2 before it came out but someone gave it has a birthday present, couldn't refuse :)

Well i enjoy TSW alot and i really think you should give it a try. Were the game really stands out among the rest, is the quests! Quests are often made as puzzles and some of them can be kinda hard to figure if you don't spent some time reading the quest and hints. I really think that tsw got something new and fresh to the mmo genre. Did you ask me for 1 month ago, i would tell you that i would never buy that give, mainly because of Funcom. It only took 1 beta to change my mind. It's really one of the best mmo's i tried in a looooong time. |

When in doubt, always read a book. :) Actually, read two books, read many books. P.S.: Do it when you're not in doubt, either. :P |

Also:
MIght I suggest a few in the sci-fi category since you enjoy Star Wars:
Leviathan Wakes, James Corey (space opera)
Blackout, by Mira Grant (great zombie read and very popular)

Read a book, I've lately been spending a lot of time catching up on some classics and they really can be as entertaining as playing a good game. Too bad my body can't handle reading over an hour and half. Also I agree with the person who recommended A song or ice and fire, great series. |

MMORPG.com's community must be one of the most educated I've seen! (Alright, bit of sarcasm there ;) )
I'll vote for the book option as well. ------ |

Book, i'd recommend Dissolution by C.J. Samson.
Anyone who recommends a game over a book needs to evaluate their life :P

With those 2 choices of MMOs - Book I am doing the same. Just discovered the Otherland series by Tad Williams after seeing a trailer for the Otherland MMO on here. Will spend the next few months reading them while I wait for GW2 to release Cluck Cluck, Gibber Gibber, My Old Mans A Mushroom |

Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons. That will take up most of your summer. |

Yep. read a book.. or something offline that is fun.. SWTOR was just another raid grind, and from what I hear TSW is the same ole same ole .. I'll wait 6 months and see how TSW unfolds.. |
