Originally posted by Wickedjelly But what is the real discussion at hand lol, just kidding by the way, see take into account I am numb from the past week end. The sheer amount of mindless questions due to the fact people had to think somehwat, really was mind boggeling. So if I was harsh or defensive you now know the reason and please accept my apology. |

Originally posted by Saxonblade No worries. Think we've all been there. It was disconcerting how many didn't even seem to try to solve the quests with puzzles. To me that is one of the more interesting portions of this game. If they don't care for it then I don't really get why they want to play this game. What fun is the quests if you just ask for the answers? To each their own I suppose. Glad I got to experience them a few betas back too since even if you did want to figure them out on your own this weekend you had to deal with someone giving out the answers in chat like every five minutes. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Originally posted by Wickedjelly I know right, which is why I think FC did not show all the Investigation quests in SC, but honestly if you took some time and a step back you could figure the quests out. I am not talking about bugged ones either, this one guy was raging on the white ravens and finally just told us all to fuck off and logged I guess lol, such rage from a lack of a brain. |

Originally posted by Saxonblade Which is smart really. Just way too many folks that could give a damn and felt like spoiling things for others. So kudos to FC really on holding back on those. Yeah, saw a few of those myself. One got pissed because the person helping them was doing it in hints rather than directly giving them the answer. Guy had the nerve to start calling the person names and then went on a soapbox about how WoW and GW2 are far superior anyways before logging off. ...and this was Dirty Laundry no less. Would love to have seen what would happen with Kingsmouth Code XD 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. Originally posted by Wickedjelly Thanks for the reply regarding the missions that bugged out for you. Btw, isn't the quest with dog Tango in Kingsmouth? (Or maybe you are referring to another quest with Tango, I haven't been over SC too thouroughly.) Anyway, it looks like one of those missions got fixed during this beta weekend and the one with the hell rifts is one I have done myself without bugs, so probably not a huge problem for Funcom to fix? Any game is going to have some bugs or problems like the keybinding issue in BF3 or error 37 in Diablo 3. Looking at the speed Funcom are fixing reported bugs, most should be done by launch. One thing I have noticed this beta weekend is the absense of problems with the servers, both regarding login and lagg. Seems they have a solid system to back them up. If the upcoming PvP weekend is as solid I think Funcom will deliver at launch. Regarding the puzzle quests I do agree with you, even though I usually end up asking for hints - I am terrible at those types of quests. Hints are good though and I have gotten a lot of very good replies which have been helpful without spoiling anything. |

Originally posted by Touc I said the same thing, and got ripped apart in another thread... The only places where I got stumped at all was on "the visions", and that was just cause I didn't have my headset on and was in combat when she called with the new clue, once I checked my quest log I was able to continue, and when I checked the bible for one of the investigations and my translation had it listed as 9000lbs instead of 120 talents.

Originally posted by Mors-Subita Just because some of us did not have many issues with the puzzles does not mean many and I mean many did, which if you think about it is a very sad state of affairs. They should rename the main quest to "I see Dumb People" :P because they were all around me in beta or lazy or both............ |

Originally posted by Blackbrrd Yeah, Tango was in Kingsmouth. I was trying to be funny and poke some fun at the fact that the ashes appeared to be gone like Tango was for many during the BWE. Apparently it is a shitty joke because people think I'm saying the quest with him is in SC lol. My hope is that there aren't a ton of bugs. That is my concern. The servers were incredibly stable and I don't think I experienced lag at all. Which was nice. PvP is going to be interesting. Hopefully it is stable. Be prepared for a lot of bellyaching though. Not all skill sets are equal so you know what that is going to lead to. Much ranting and raving. Nothing wrong with asking for hints far as I'm concerned. I have to be honest. If I wasn't brought up in a Catholic background I doubt I would have figured those quests out or least not as "easily". Same with a quest later on. Chance are if I hadn't encountered the same type in LotR I may have been lost as well. But some...I mean there were people asking for the coordinates for the Captain's Log quest. I mean...seriously? W...t...f ...and lol at your story Saxon. Guy must have felt really silly when he realized the person wasn't harassing him. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. Originally posted by Saxonblade The game was a breath of fresh air for those who like to use their brain to solve the puzzles. It was appalling (not surprising) to see the number of YouTube vids already posted on how to beat some of the simplest investigation quests. I have to admit, The Kingsmouth Code had me stumped for several hours, and Something Wicked had me going for a while until it kind of hit me as how to "ask a ghost for the truth". Completing quests like that gave a huge sense of accomplishment and, in some way, a sense of masochism as I would rush to find the next investigation quest to beat my head on a wall over. Simply put... I love what they've done with this game.
My only complaint is there seems to be a small memory leak and I don't like the excuse "upgrade to 64-bit" given when the bug reporter pops up. |

Originally posted by Kost well glad to know you have followed my postings since the AO days. Life is too short to play crap games and the combat, controls, and animations in this one is crap. FC seems to always do things half ass and release games that are great in some aspects but total piles of dung in others, sad but true. AO nad AoC both had some great features as does TSW, but all had some game breaking flaws also. One would think FC would learn, but guess not |

They are going to have to look at certain builds for pvp, I have a build that one shots fairly tough mobs, like draugr. I know of another build where your practically unkillable. Thing is they would need to fix these for pve anyway. It's not like a class based mmo, where having a Gimp class means your stuck. They just have to keep an eye on extreme builds.
