jump still need to be correct, isnt much important but is something easy to fix so dont understand why they still have that ridiculous jump animation.

combat as i say is a personal taste, i dont like it  but for someone who like the combat style the game will be very good.

animations / combat is the only reason i cant have fun in TSW, animations they can improve that but the combat im sure will not change (add a dodge system dont change anything...).

I think you are a bit deluded about TSW, the beta this weekend was like any beta weekend I have been in, chat was filled with the same crap as usual, the same trolls, the same fanboys, there was nothing different about what I saw in TSW general chat and GW2 general chat last weekend.

Yeah, me too. I saw the typical trollish behavior. It was constantly going something lie this:

GW2 pwns this game!

GW2 is for WoW kiddies, noob! Go back to candyland!

Maybe you are just too stupid to understand this game.

Hey guys, can I get some help... what is the password for the computer please......

God, you GW2 fanboys are just predictable trash.

This game is SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Why don't you actually think about the quest like an adult would?

The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me.

Now I remember why I turned off general chat.

Etc, etc, etc.

HAHA yeah. The weird thing is that both GW2 and TSW had very few trolls in their first BWE, and in the next there where far more vocal retards has usual. Their sense of smell was off i guess.

Pvp beta is next weekend. It's pvp only, no pve.

Well people criticized me when I quit after a few quests. Why put yourself through torture when the game isn't that good to begin with ? Though hey, so many have already said this game isn't good but some still  must be a glutton for punishment.

Yeah i see a lot of this.  People who are absolutely pumped about GW2 hate this game.

Personally im fine with that crowd disliking and shunning the game.  Its the same crowed i played Aion at launch with, and Rift at launch, and SWTOR at launch...not only do they ALWAYS choose to overhype a medicore but i find myself with a jam packed block list and global chat closed...something i certainly didnt have to worry about while beta testing TSW.

Its a completely diffrent crowd and this game appeals to a completely diffrent gamers tastes, and i believe that was the goal in development.

While i played GW2 i saw the standard community i had grow to dislike, concerned only with most OP class and quickest rout to endgame, and easiest pvp win...on top of chat full of old meme jokes and LOL@Alienware topics, typically with people pretending that alienware is awesome and the people who will act shocked that people would make that comment...its a tired conversation that isnt even real...lol-troll i guess you could call it.

I wont comment on what i thought of that games core mechanics other than same old in a new package. Im sure it will be a good pvp game and im sure ill get around to playing it after launch some time (after the overhype crowd determins it a fail game and turns to haters of it and leaving of course)

While in TSW community was more question/help and i actually saw a few real discussions, my hope is that it will be more like anarchy onlines community, which actually drove away the lol-troll kids or made them feel dumb enough to where they acted normal.

I would probablyt be happier in game with a sub pop around  50k-150k rather than a pop around 1-2mil as it seems the larger they get the harder it is to find normal people, and the cruddier player interaction becomes.

Bottom line with gameplay between the two, for me it seems GW2 is focused on players competing for dominance over eachother, where TSW seems more like a game you play to enjoy the game and figure out stuff.

The only thing i feel that is missing from TSW is some form of guild vs guild seiging mechanics, thats the pvp i love most as far as long term enjoyment.

Bravo my friend... I look forward to enjoying TSWs amazingness with you WITHOUT the Rift/SWTOR/Gw2 crowd :) what faction you going?

thats why I wont be playing BWE 3 for GW2, torturous indeed... why would I put myself through another round of uninspiring monotony?

I dont understand why it has to be compared to gw2. It just doesnt.

Can someone make a discussion describing what they do or don't like about the TSW without pulling other games into it?

You haven't described what you didnt like. or what you think would be better without resulting to gw2.

In regards to your "why do you think its niche" statements, They Have said they desire 500k subs. They declared themselves niche, what we think or want is irrelevant.

It just isn't ready for a next month release, I'd like to think that's something everyone will agree with and that's ultimately going to end up really hurting the games success like with AoC.

Elaborate?

It has all the offerings of a good theme park? bugs are minimal or on par with any mmo released currently.

Exactly, people are so desperate for that awesome mmo experience that now we have to listen to excuses why badly designed mmos are still good for players.

To the OP:  I don't think you are missing anything.  GW2 (just like every other MMO) is not going to please everyone.  If it's not your taste, it's not your taste.

For me it fills the PvP hole in my chest I've been feeling for so long.  I like the quick pace and action of the PvP, it fits what I was looking for.  However, it can't and won't be everything to everyone - GW2 devs seemed to have focused on the PvP aspect of the game more then the PvE aspect.

Some will love it, some will like it and some will not.

And on that that note..i wish you well and hope you enjoy your time in GW2.

Yea, I feel this way about TSW I guess, althought I think the difference i feel between GW2 and TSW is that GW2 has this open world SvSvS aspect that is innovative and drawing a lot of hype from people, it's something that really hasn't been seen before.

The problem TSW has is that it doesn't have anything that has not been seen before on a scale like GW2.  Again, I'm not sure how PvP will be though...maybe they have a trick up their sleeve?

You describe GW2's RVR as open-world, but for the life of me, I can't think of it as such, because it's totally cut off from the other stuff you do out there. Open world PVP to me is PVP in the world you do the other stuff in as well. I'd also say it's not that innovative - aside from putting servers in the place of factions - but an improved version of the DAOC / WAR formula. Only, I'd prefer the WAR version because it's not totally cut off from the rest of the game.

To me, neither of these games have a huge thing that's not been seen before. TSW has a good setting that's realized really well, but I doubt you can call it some huge fresh feature. The levelless/clasless progression is outside the norm, but not exactly groundbreaking, either. Still, I was less bored than I was in GW2, because all of that game's features felt like lifeless modules to me. TSW has more of a coherent feel, though way less polished, especially when it comes to stuff like animation, and the combat is downright uninspired.

Me, ultimately I guess I'd prefer TSW, I guess. The combat bores me, but at least I'm interested in the world. That's the number one attraction in an MMO to me.

Which makes me think: Why have I purchased GW2 and not TSW? Gotta rectify that some time. :)

You know I keep coming back to the secret world.

I agree with the OP, although I would say on it's current track its going to be listed around 7-7.5/10.

It should be done fairly after extensive time playing the released game however. I played the beta and still do when I can, the combat is not a turn off to me, but is something that nags me. It feels blocky or stiff I should say. If they just tweak it a bit, add more animations maybe..idk then perhaps that would just iron it out a bit.

How ever this game is more story based, figuring things out on your own and mystery. That alone will make sure it gets installed on my computer. I just love the aspect of horror, lore and this feels like a good edgar allen poe story. I feel like a detective as well trying to figure out what is really going on behind the veil.

yeah, you don't know how many times I try to explain that very statement....it doesn't soak in...that and these as well:

- Don't compare Rifts skill system to TSW's....TSW's is much different

- If the way toons jump is your only gripe (which is all I ever see being complained about...that and combat...don't understand that either) than how could you call a game horrible?

- Funcom is well known for PVE, not their PVP.  So if all you care about is PVP, you might want to look elsewhere and you probably won't be satisfied....there will be PVP and it might be awesome, but PVE is the focus.

- If you rage quit in the subway, you haven't even started playing the game yet.

I've argued/discussed/warned on all of this and probably more...I'm done posting on here though...It's like a revolving door and just not worth my time.  See everyone in TSW!!  Cant wait for early start!

I agree with you mostly.  It is a meh game.  If it was a buy to play with cash shop I'd probably pick it up just becasue the theme is interesting but p2p I'll definately pass.

They just got into Kingsmouth and killed a couple easy zombies and then ragequited.

The very first boss you encounter already requires you to move around. If you just stand still and spam your skills, you get toasted! Period!

You get some really cool boss encounters in your personal story missions and they really aren't easy at all.

I am actually impressed at the amount of improvements in this beta weekend build! Lot of combat animations have been improved.

The game overall runs a hell lot smoother too, even with the amount of people playing right now.

Overall... I had a quite negative feeling from the first 2 beta weekends, but actually start to come around getting more positive!

Looking forward to the next beta weekend and see how the PVP pans out.

WvW is NOT an improvement upon daoc rvr. It's good, its better than war, its probably better than Tsws own take on the concept. But its not a patch on daoc or planetside because there is NO RIVALRY.
