When it comes to the seamless open world mmo adventuring? My list would be. 1. Anarchy Online 2. World of Warcraft 3. Fallen Earth 4. TERA We know the 4 have dungeons that are instanced as well, but not too many load screens when venturing in the open world. Games I would consider to have way too many load instancing would be.. 1. Age of Conan 2. Star Wars the Old Republic 3. Warhammer Online Is it just me, or does it just break immersion for you when a screen has to load the next zone.

Seamless:
WoW(absolutely seamless, barring travel from Kalimdor to Lordaeron or such extreme shizznits) Aion(more or less) Boxed in: Guild Wars(not an MMO, but it still is an epitome of instanced games, Like Paragon of instances lol) AoC(too boxed in, it should have been more open) WAR(its whole premise is an instance lol-tiers=big instances) |

AC UO EVE ATITD DAoC Darkfall Horizons/Istaria Lineage 2 filmoret: One thing I have never figured out is why the game devs hardly ever fix simple problems that arise. It is like they don't care about the pvp community. Nitth: What makes you so sure its a simple fix? filmoret: Because most of them are. Sometimes its just changing a number in a code string other times its creating a few variables. However none of them should take over a few hours of coding. |

Originally posted by Loktofeit EvE kind of has loading between every system, not that its long or anything. I'm playing Vanguard right now and it has a very open world, but the "loading" between chunks is a bit annoying in the long run. Kind of the same loading time as EvE has between its systems.. if you can call it loading at all that is. |

Mortal Online doesn't have any load screens, or instances of any kind. Instances or "zoning" is not necessarily a game-breaker for me, but I will say that some have gone overboard with it, to an extent where is does adversely impact the immersion of a game. Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned. |

TSW is kind of middle of the road. There are load screens, but each area is huge, so you can basically play for tens of hours in each area without any loadscreens. At the same time, especially at the start of the game you have a lot of loadscreens. In other words, if you get past the first hour of play it's good. Not seamless, but good. I have played AoC and TSW is a magnitude better when it comes to load screens. In addition, the playfields are really open and not funneled, which makes you appreciate the size, not get annoyed by it. |
