I lost 2 characters to the 95% bug but other than that had no problems at all, didn't have any in the 1st beta either. Only slight lag when around 30+ people. Logged in and out of WvW a few times, didn't have any problem getting back in. |

Just a point of observation XD I'm a big advocate for GW2 but I know it's not ready for release just yet. It's at times like these that I enjoy the fact they don't try to push for a release date. They're pushing for an awesome game and whatever they think is feasable will probably get done. Things like number balancing, pvp balance, PVE back end balance, quest glitches, minigame score systems and other minor ideas/fixes. I still think it needs a little bit of a tutorial written into the first few (story) quest steps. One quest step gets you to help the local area. Perhaps the next step is to find an event? Some sort of event chain? Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play? |

Originally posted by Terrorizor Yeah, I even saw someone complaining about it in-game today. There must be a good reason why they're not going with channels like they did with GW1, but I must have missed the explanation. At release, it should be at least as simple to use as GW1's system. no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Originally posted by Eir_S Last BWE we could work a way around it, but not this time as contacts was broken, and the game insisted that my friends wasn't online. So we couldn't even form a party.
read how to create a succesfull mmo before posting about GW2. And read tao of ArenaNet before talking about innovation in GW2 |

Edited. I misread your comment. I thought this was about channels, but I had the same issue with not being "online" and my friend was standing right next to me when we were trying to party up. no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Yeah. People seem to be getting their hopes up for June, and haven't quite figured out that Anet meant to have an ACTUAL beta experience; one filled with bugs, lag, and massive frustration. One meant to fix things. It's not just a little playtime before launch, and the things they still have left to work on probably means we're not seeing launch before September. Guys! They used the SAME BUILD from the last beta test for this stress test, it wasn't expected to have any kind of improvements regarding bugs or gameplay. We don't know yet what kind of fixes they made, we'll have to wait for the next beta week-end to test a new build and judge how fast they change things. |

Originally posted by Arthedain So much this. To clarify to everyone, this was not a short BWE2, it was just an extra 8 hours of BWE1 to get additional data. They ran the same build so problems were likely to be the same. |

The game ran ok'ish with problems during the last BWE The game ran amazing during the stress test for some odd reason. 0 d/c's, 1 hang up on 95% (restart fixed it), overall higher FPS, 0 login problems, grouped up with 6 people from my WoW guild and non had major issues. overall i'd say it went really well (for us) and i played the stress test for 5 hours straight without problems. It was my smoothest stress test EVER. I remember a few stress tests in other games where i couldn't even play normally |

Originally posted by Arthedain Still they had awhile to fix some bugs. It would have been nice if they had fixed the issue with getting stuck in WvWvW and being unable to login. You figure it would have been a fairly easy fix. |

Yep, definately needs a bit more work under the hood and then some polish. It feels good though, for the most part. I was surprised with the decent performance of my mid-range system, considering the GPU is under utilized by the current build. At this point it seems to be mostly "the little things" that are buggy. I issued a report on fast traveling from within an instance and a failed travel. I'm also not sure they have a full grasp on the server/overflow innerworkings just yet. The 95% deal was a bit dramatic too, but ended up not being as catastrophic as I initially feared it might be. Logged out (as in shut down the game) and came back and got in. All in all it was fun. Anet is impressing me. I am really looking forward to the release.

Originally posted by Atlan99 I haven't seen anything to indicate that they have not fixed a few, or perhaps even more than a few, bugs. Not having updated the build for a stress test doesn't mean that they have done nothing about existing bugs.
Doing the equivalent of watching a rerun of a television show over the summer and complaining that it plays out in exactly the same manner as it did upon first run, while the network is in the process of producing new episodes seems odd to me.
That said, I am looking forward to seeing improvements made. The game has a ways to go in my opinion. When all has been said and done, more will have been said than done. |

Originally posted by Atlan99 Hmm, I got stuck at 95% once but I thought it had to do with my raid kicking out one of my SSDs (it might actually). I don´t think it is so bad as you say, the game should still be ready for august but there are indeed a few things to polish up, |

The fact that we didn't get a new build for the stresstest doesn't mean there's no new build with tons of fixes yet. It may be rough but many a game has shipped with much, much rougher edges than these. The client runs like a dream and ive really only come across a few quirks with the AH and the aforementioned 95% bug. For a stress test I was braced for it being unplayable but only experienced one, albeit pretty severe, bout of lag for around a minute and the rest of the night was fine. r.i.p. c! |

Beside the 95% loading screen "bug" and the failedtoloadinstance in the first couple of minutes, I haven't seen many bugs or problems. I played all modes of the game with my brother and we both had a blast for about 3-4 hours playing the game. Afaik some things are borked, but the stress test was a success, because they could quickly fix server related issues (at least on my server) like 95% and failedtoloadinstance/failedtocreateinstance. Of course it is still a bit rough around the edges, but apparently my experience differ from others. Also, they emphasized this is not a BWE, but a stress test and haven't announced any improvements thus far. They have said that some of the stuff reported and suggested is already working on their dev client, so chances are high we'll see a couple of improvements and fixes for the next BWE. |

I guess there is still a large variation on play ability among the players. Last BWE i couldn't even log in till Saturday, The stress test yesterday, i logged in, logged back out, then logged back in without an single issue. NO crashes, no FPS lag, it was a huge improvement to the game for me. Good thing they still don't have a release date to lock themselve in a panic, unlike TSW where there seem to be problems that they need to rush to fix due to their June release date. Overall if my experience is any evidence, then they should be ready for launch, to others that experienced crashes its not, so until they have an BWE that no one has any problems, It will be a few more month till its finally ready for launch.
