I had a flawless experience other than a hiccup trying to make a new toon when the servers first came up There are times when one must ask themselves is it my passion that truly frightens you? Or your own? |

I had some moments of lag. But that was usually around and event area with 20 or so players and then all the extra mobs generated because of that. Then I'd feel some impact on my game.
But I have an old duo core, and I have a 5850, so I dont expect to run the game smoothly in such situations. For the most part I have been astonished with how well the game runs for me, in that I dont usually notice lag at all, except as mentioned in the most crowded of situations, and even then it is still playable. - Im also on a US server playing from europe, so, you might be experiencing something that has less to do with the client, and more to do with your connection, and the way you are travelling to the server, as well as your hardware. But with regards to the hardware, you can go pretty darn low and still be fine. |

Honestly, I was expecting something like what the OP describes--it being a stress test after all. Instead, I was able to log in and do everything I wanted to do without a hiccup! A few friends and I immediately ran out to Kessex Hills to explore all kinds of content, usually 3-5 levels higher than us and had a blast for 5 hours. I eventually went back to Divinity's Reach to craft with all the new materials I had gathered and salvaged, gained about 40 points in tailoring while crafting myself a full set of gear--most of which was superior to what I had equipped (everything except the rare heart quest karma rewards)--and dyed it all to my taste. I then spent about a half hour completing the next two stages of my personal story (got up to about the level 17 part) before rejoining my friends for an hour of structured PvP, where we were able to join up and play with each other and try out our pre-planned specs. It was the fastest 7 hours of my life! |
