Everyone on your server is basically on your side. There is no competitiion between players on the same server except for structured PvP and fighting over ownership of a fort at WvW. So what I am saying is people around you are there to help when tackling events and such. If you are fighting a big boss in the world from an event it is really good to have people around to help. There is big reward for helping people in GW2. Yes you can solo everything except for [Group] events and dungeons, but you get much more exp and karma if you are in a group or are helping out people.
Let me also say this. Every guild that is on the same server is basically an Alliance. In WvW each guild will be fighting for the server, not themselves. You can face off with other guilds in your server in structured PvP for fun. Everybody Love Everybody! I believe each server community can grow a very strong relationship and that is what makes a game fun. Of course there will be assholes, but they will be few and far since they probably won't progress as fast as a friendly player. -I am here to perform logic |

Excellent point! This is really important to me and in beta that system worked like a charm, When we played group events with my friends or others for example,(like WAR or RIFT ) everybody was against each other secretly after some point to grab the golden medal at the end, that 10 barrel which party needs to destroy to complete the event was raced upon... Now getting a gold medal is not a big deal anyone participates properly in the event gets a gold and it doesnt make much difference, You cannot hinder your friends, or other players you dont know. You dont cause them lose exp or drop by attacking the monster they need to kill, you just help them. (by the right now players that revive others during the event complain about not being count as participated to event but im sure it will be adressed in the future). Only bad you could do to some1 may be not to revive them when you are passing by which will cost him/her 2 minutes and 20 coppers.

The pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is very short, and the pen is very sharp. |

Eventually, the mmorpg with the developer closest to the customer will be the best mmorpg. |

Yes we all probably know that the servers are all friendly, but from my little knowledge of the lore, I thought that some factions would hate each other. I've heard the charr have driven the humans to near extinction, wouldn't the norn and other human faction hate them for this?
On a side note could someone point me somewhere to get caught up on the Gw lore to this point? I don't need to get very in depth, but I would like to know whats going on in the world. Yes I played SWTOR. |

Originally posted by Hauvarn Hi! :) You can check the story of GW here: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page GW Beyond explains the last few bits and the books are moving between GW1 and GW2 The GW2 Lore can be found here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page Hope that helps! :) To The OP: What I love about the "togetherness" on a server is that it makes lorewise sense. Depending on the story, all these races unite their strenght to fight off the dragons and the forces that are coming with them, as also defending each other against other races (like the centaurs or the "bad" charr legions that are against this unity). :) |
