@ DannyGlover
Well said, the lore alone is what makes it an Elder scroll game... seeing as this is set before the events of the last 3 games in the series, first person isn't neededy. What I like is them not claiming it the next evolution or innovation for mmo.. |

They are going for a hubless quest system. NPCs will point you in the direction of certain quests but any quest can be gained while out adventuring. One example was clearing out a cave of vampires will give you a reward and open up a quest chain.
Their is no aggro mechanic and stamina and a block mechanic are important for survival. Their are three PvP factions. It is being developed by a different studio from the SP game and shouldn't affect the series in any way. |

Rage on guys. Rage on.
Some of these mechanics sound really cool to me: Hubless questing Open world dungeons 3 faction open world PvP with politics Exploration being integral to questing Limited skill bar (Diablo or GW 2 style pick your skills) I think I'll wait and see what the actual game is like instead of freaking the crap out from just the announcement. This game has a seemingly lot of cool things going for it. How it all works out is anyone's guess. It's a bit early to call it a wow clone. In fact, this games features remind me of GW 2 more than anythin, and you all love to prattle on about how GW 2 is changing the universe forever and is so unique and creative! Honestly, TESO reminds me of GW 2 more than wow. Shadow's Hand Guild The Secret World - Dragons Planetside 2 - Terran Republic Tera - Dragonfall Server |

Wish they had gone classless and done something like tsws ability wheel though, that would be more tes in my opinion than hard classes.

i'll judge it when i get to try it like i do every other game, no point in getting worked up over anything till you actually get to play it. but i love the elder scroll universe so i'm hoping it will be fun, i really don't care if it does the same things as other mmo's i just want it to be fun and not tedious :) "The great thing about human language is that it prevents us from sticking to the matter at hand." |

You know I remember back during the height of the Interplay vs Bethesda lawsuit, that one of the claims being presented in that case were that Zenimax were making and i quote "a world of warcraft style mmo". Looks like those lawyers were being more truthful than we had thought! |

How is this anything like Elder Scrolls? WoW-like hotbar combat? Been there and done that... 10 times. |

I'm not going to condemn the game outright, I don't have enough information yet. I'm admittedly a big fan of the series since Arena and always felt it worked perfectly well as a single-player experience. Alot of the charm, going anywhere and doing almost anything you want, seems like it would be lost if you suddenly have to share a world with other players. But really these concerns won't be valid so long as they continue to make single-player games in the Elder Scrolls universe. And my acceptance of the game will probably depend on that. Also Imperials are my favorite race and they aren't playable, and that kind of bums me out. |

So it seems as if the patrons of this site have found something other than Guild Wars 2 to piss and moan about.Seems as the cycle is starting earlier and earlier as well as the game has hardly even been revealed. |

P.S. My only real concern about the game is that whether it ends up being an open world or not, they will still manage to funnel people through very narrow paths of progression. The fact that they are including raids makes me really worry about that. Most companies feel that in order to make raiding viable, it has to be the ultimate progression path and I really, really dislike that mentality. |

You know, actually, I know this isn't at all what you're intending but you've now renamed the comment community here for me. The haters are so rampant. I think I'm renaming the chronics of MMORPG.com "World of Trollcraft." |
