Originally posted by elocke Actually it has a very good chance. Paypal generally favors the buyer in these cases. And since it was a digital purchase, the seller can just disable the account. So it it's not like he/she bought a lawn mower and caused wear and tear on it. Also, there are enough people doing the refund via paypal that it will cause red flags. Further if paypal wants to keep the buyer as a customer they will consider the buyer's points. Your arguement is merely a product of your wishful thinking and a sense of how you want things to be. |

Originally posted by dubyahite As I see it he couldn't wait for the free weekend before launch and then got cold feet. He is getting exactly what he paid for. If he in some way can prove that ANET isn't giving him what he paid for he has the consumer right to get his money back, of course. But he didn't make a preorder, he bought the game to be delivered when it is ready. If he preordered the game as some people have done he can easily cancel it (Gamestop charges 5 bucks for it) but that wouldn't have given him beta access. OP would have gotten a chanse to try it out for free before launch anyways. At least my local gamestore does not let you return any game with some kind of code in if it is opened, that goes both for MMOs and FPS games. |

Originally posted by UOvet For some people if a game doesn't grab them from the get go..it isn't worth their time. I don't think people needs ho force themselves to play 40 to 50 or 80 levels to realise that. And it is valid for any MMO not just GW2. |

Originally posted by Echo08 And if Paypal routinely sides with the buyer in situations where they demonstrably got what they paid for, then sellers won't accept Paypal. People who want to take stuff without paying for it aren't the most profitable customers. |

In my experience, what companies say, and what my rights are by law are two very different things. |

I don't see how you can justify your claims after starting this topic http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/337440 Where was that "insight" when it came to knowing about the cash shop? That information is old news. |

Originally posted by UOvet That's an idiotic response, inregards to the car. You get to test drive a car, don't use a snarky lame fallacy. I will concede that I could have waited for a 'free trial', but wouldn't that be indicative of a bad product shortly after launch. Not to mention one losses out on all the 'googies', because you didn't join in right away. I played 7 levels as a human thief, and five levels as a norn warrior. I liked the norn area the least. The bear cubs were cute, but that's about it.

Op as many have stated to your post you are quite bonkers how the heck can u even mention F2P when A-net have been ramming B2P with cash shop down our throats for bloody ages, and i would add why would you want to miss out on this piece of gameing magic anyway and in BETA it is still one of the best games i've ever tested/played.

It would be better for everyone involved if they cut these "open beta" marketing stunts and just had a purchase on the day. |

Lol....... this is hilarious. I certainly hope they don't refund you with these blatant lies as reasons for refund. For the others that want to refund I have nothing against you if you have a valid reason but people like the OP saying lies to get refund is not acceptable in my opinion. OP you should link this thread to paypal for extra proof so they refund you. /sarcasm |

Originally posted by Quizzical How is it taking without paying? It was a digital code? NCSoft, just merely disables the game from the players acount? I don't see where the 'taking without playing' took place. Also, if its just one or 2 people then, no big deal give or don't give a refund. Arenanet and paypal are essentially out nothing. Furth paypal is very big, it funded Space X, I can assume that shooting rockets into space is fairly expensive. So, I suspect they have a good sense of when to refund and when not to. Now if its 1000 people wanting a refund, yeah there is something going on. If that is the case arenanet will have bigger problems then refusing refunds. I will admit I'm doing a refund, because I did not like the game. |
