Over the top and deflective reaction, but seeing as your current favorite game is SWTOR, It's understandable. What does it say that you don't actually argue with any of the issues I had with the game?
However, I must agree. It was very stupid of me to listen to the praise of SWTOR fans in the various reviews that I read. It was quite ignorant of me to ignore the bad reviews and dismiss them as jaded haters. I learned a very costly lesson in my HUGE mistake of listening to SWTOR fanbois...One that I will not repeat in the future....

1.) I'm not stalking SWTOR's forums trolling about how bad the game is. I'm responding to a 'SWTOR IS SO GREAT!' forum post on a general MMORPG forum. 2.) You're reaction was deflective and over the top because you did not address any of the poitns that I made, and instead tried to divert the issues that I have with the game on me being a "bad consumer". It's the same thing as telling a victim that they are at fault, "Well, it's you're fault you got robbed!" 3) You failed to catch the tongue-in-cheek sarcastic nature of my second paragraph. The fact is that I did do my research, I was reading two opposite opinions of the game, decided to actually believe the makers of the game and their fans instead of the people they were labeling as just 'haters', and I got screwed for it because what I purchased was an unfinished lenear co-op game that lacked in very basic features when what was advertised was a highly polished next gen MMORPG. 4) I wasn't even argueing about that. What I was pointing out is the state of the OP where he A.) feels a need to hide his gamming from his SO and then B.) decided he was tired of hiding what he obviously saw as an embarrasing activity (why else hide it) and now holds the opinion that if she doesn't like it, she can leave, with no clear indication that he has done anything in an attempt to meet her half way in regards to what she clearly is disturbed about. C) No, I don't know the whole situation, but i) he OP views his girlfriend deleting a character because she is mad he plays MMO's as a random act of "crazy" and ii) people only ever tell their side of the story...It basically comes down to: Dude, maybe you should back off the game just a little and try spending some time and communicating with your girlfiend about it. |

It's a well known fact that EA hires marketeers to come on forums posing as normal forumgoers as part of their "viral marketing" department. http://www.cinemablend.com/games/EA-Viral-Marketing-Exposed-Big-Buyout-Horizon-40885.html So what he is saying is not that unbelievable.

The point is on a forum like this there are going to be a number of shrills, it just so happens that negative comments have more impact on people's choices than possitive ones, so common sense says if you want more people to play your game you don't big it up, you bad mouth the competition. ----- |

As far as I know Bioware doesn't do the customer service, EA does. I sent in a bug report ticket the other day about the "Logout" button in the escape menu not working, got a reply in about 20 seconds, the next day I got 4 more replies on the same damn ticket and I can't delete them.

They would have to have fresh flowers put in my room and a mint on my pillow to get my attention. And a full minibar with bags of peanuts. I'm pretty disappointed with those guys. On several levels. |

Monorojo its been about a week now, isn't it time for another Bioware = so good for = X good deed post again? I mean you only have two going at the same time right now. Maybe you should talk about how good the graphics are? Or perhaps praises for the 1.2 patch.
Desperation is in the air people. |

Nope. You denigrate the crtics and spread postive stories. Any shots to other games are just in passing. You goal is to 'look above it' while making anyone with legitimate criticisms of your operations 'paranoid' while ostracising them as trolls. You'd be surprised how many one-day suspensions I've gotten for just pointing out flaws in the game. Not even posts addressed at someone. It's about social manipulation and squelchin dissent. Not advertising or standing on your merits.
Like when bad restauraunts give themselves 5-star reviews online. Then you take your wife to Mother's Day Brunch and have one of the worst meals of your life... Case in point, Bistro 215, Nashville, TN -- now closed due to crap food and no customers, yet had a bunch of 5-star 'just so story' reviews... Imagine that...
Look at the distribution of the reviews on the chart. An abnormal # of 4's and 5's. NO 3's. And a bunch of 1's and 2's. And, considering how the restauraunt closed (in the premium Green Hills area in Nashville)... The 1's and 2's had it right. This was a 'no fail' location if your food was decent. But it wasn't even as good as Applebee's...
Anyway, that's viral marketing. Lying through your teeth. With games it includes labeling people as 'trolls' and 'haters' when they criticize the game. Regardless of the emotional content of their posts. |

Days I believe. Hours to get your account restored, I believe. It took Guild Wars 39 minutes from e-mail to response to get my GW1 account password back. But that wasn't a charactert restore and I had all the information to my account, I just couldn't reset the password because I no longer used Mindspring as my email.
So I proved everything in the follow-up email and they reset my PW and email. That's easy.
Hours to restore a deleted toon. No. You have to drag those out of a database by hand. |
