Yeah... not going to happen. Remember... all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more. |

Welllllllll.... does sound cool, but that's the whole point of WvWvW. You gotta hold the most control points and ultimatly try to invade and win over enemy base... "Happiness is not a destination. It is a method of life." ![]() |

Originally posted by Deathenger KO was just a GANK fest - it was only fun if you were the ganker. I played KO and it was not worth playing at all. The only people to ever get to max level were the people who actually started when the game came out. Otherwise it was impossible to get there due to ganking. This is a dumb idea. If they want to lose people playing the game, then YES do it. If you want people to play, ignore this idea. |

Originally posted by Nethriil This is what I am concerned about. It will be a massive zergfest during primetime, you will end up with 3 massive zergs going round capturing keeps etc in turn, and then at night it when everyone is asleep it will be the realm of the ninja guilds who specifically log on at 3am to go and capture everything.

Yeah - so then go play a game setup for this. I for one like the fact that if I wish to PVP I can, and if I don't wish too, you can't make me. If that makes me Carebear then I'll wear that label proudly. Not everyone gets their jollies ganking! |

This IS going to happen, and there's nothing that Anet can do to stop it short of going the Lineage route of set times for sieges. It's been happening for as long as there's been objectives to capture in PVP (DAOC 10 years ago) You just do what we did back then, get your own force together and take your stuff back. |

Originally posted by colddog04 I don't really see how it matters much tbh, those server wide buffs are terrible. A max of 3% at tier 3 added to heals? That's like dodging one of the 20 meteors hitting you at once, not really going to do any good. The only one that looks interesting is the Artisan buff, but even then we don't know the base values for critical success. At teir 3 that's a 6% bonus, so even if critical chance was some high number like 30% (unlikely) that's just an increase of 1.8% Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly fine with those buffs not really being critical, just a nice gesture, but I don't think they're something worth aiming for or really caring about for that matter. This is ultimately why I left EvE Online. Its a great game to be sure. Lots of freedom. But the griefers are just dumb. Theres a point where killing people who cant fight back just seems wrong. "Taking candy from a baby" and all that. Sure, call me carebear. But I wouldnt take candy from a baby. |

well i have searched for the link for 30 mon now, but no luck.
but i remember mike or izzy talking about this issue, and they were saying that if your server wake up at 3 am and own wvw becasue there is alsmost no one there, you will be pitted next vs a server that the players are doing the same thing, and play at the same time zone,
beside there will always be guild from all over the world on each server (as long the ping wont be to hard), im a euro based player, and most of my GVG was done with a NA guild with no real lag issues (insted of 60-80 ping i would get 100-150... not a game breaker.)
i am not worried at all with this, and a.net has proven that they DO know pvp. gw1 as being the best example for it. I 3930k -- Rampage IV Extreme -- G.skill RipjawsZ 32 GB -- Corsair Force Series 3 120gb -- G.skill Phoenix Pro 60gb -- WD 1 TB Black -- Corsair H 100 -- Thermaltake Level 10 Gt Snow Edition -- Corsair AX1200 -- Asus 560 Ti Sli -- Microsoft Sidewinder X4 -- Logitech G5 -- DELL UltraSharp 2007FP -- Samsung Syncmaster Sa700 -- Logitech Z2300 -- Logitech G35 -- Logitech G600 White -- coming soon : Dell U2711. |

Couldnt agree more, and it gives us PvPers a bad rep. Just the other day I witnessed 2 guys on a EVE free trial, get ganked in .9 space. Then the guy who popped them, came back into local and started bragging, somehow he was able to get away. Seriously, how can anybody brag about that? I see the same crap whenever I play ANY blizzard title. So sad. |

Originally posted by Eliandal WvW is huge. A server that relies on a single zerg will get beaten by a server that splits up and takes twice as much territory, and then can sit on a huge amount of supply defending their keeps from the zerg. Player mentality will surely lean towards zerging, but players aren't, as a whole, complete idiots. If zerging proves to be a losing tactic, they won't do it. I never played DAoC, but I have seen maps, and while they are also enormous, they are both very linear (in the sense that you pretty much have to pass by Castle B to get from Castle A to Castle C, and (from what I've heard) travel in that game was slow and relied on certain professions casting speed buffs. In other words, outrunning a zerg was going to be difficult for a small gruop of players. With its circuitous map layout, the possibilty of making and defending waypoints, and tons of personal speed buffs, I don't see that being a problem for GW2. |

Originally posted by biogerm IF what you say about servers with guilds that get up at 3am to capture being matched up with other servers that did similar things, then that is AWESOME, however, I have only ever heard about winners being matched up against other winners Also, on every server there is a primetime when the majority of people are on, and an off time when it is almost empty. EU servers will most likely have 90% EU players meaning the primetime will be in the evening EU time, and the off time will be in the middle of the night EU time. Same for US servers. No doubt there will be EU players playing on US servers and vice versa but not enough to spread the popular times out enough to affect primetime. Cluck Cluck, Gibber Gibber, My Old Mans A Mushroom |

Not having or getting what the OP suggests is a smart move towards automatic turd-removal for GW2's playerpool.

Imo in chess there should be added a 3rd players. it would make the game of chess so much more exciting! <- This is what i think when I read some suggestions in many different game forums. Stop asking for changing fundamental design choices. |
