Originally posted by LadyNoh Exactly. They have said here is our game and this is what it is. Its not having a ton of hype, I think they I read something about them deciding against it after AoC initial release. Either way Funcom supports and fixes their products. I'm sorry people are getting a red flag, from bad releases I held off from those. The AoC engine is tested and proven now. This game will be what I wanted, a modern day conspiracy theory with secret socities and all. Awesome for me. |

I can understand peaple being a little weary about the launches of FC ive been there when AO and AOC both came out but very soon after they came out fixes came and smoothed out alot of the bugs and yes i still play AO and im very excited about the secret world been following it for meny months i expect a few bugs in the beginning every game has them to start with but FC has alway smoothed out the bugs |

Ok people, its funcom, weve done this before. FFS please dont play the game at launch if you rage over minor issues. It probably wont be as rushed as AoC was, as i understand the owners of the IP/investors needed the game to launch regardless of quality. They fixed the game eventually and its still running (was suppose to die months after launch remember?) Ill be playing the game for the developers talent in bringing uniqueness into games that have become monotonous and similair in too many ways. Ill wait and see a week or two if i want to jump in (unless i get desperate which i might) EA is just publishing it, they havent touched the code...
This game is going to generate a lot of hate regardless of how good it is, its funcom and people are still hurt over AoC's launch. I really just wish GW2 would launch before TSW to suck up all the wow-park pvpers and keep them occupied for that month before they go looking for a new game. |

Gameplay videos especially, not terrible, just.. concerning. Won't be preordering, might even just play Tera for a while, before trying this one. I'll definitely try it eventually. Hope all these red flags turn out the be nothing... When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world. |

Originally posted by Crunchy221 This. No matter what, the game was bound to generate hate and bashing, no matter what path it would've taken due to FC's past. Personally, I don't mind the more down-to-earth approach they're using, better than the hyped up chest thumping that was seen pre-launch of AoC by Gaute and others. Also, I personally wouldn't mind if things were being kept low key, if it would lead the certain types of MMO gamers out of it, that are easily traumatised by former gaming experiences or auto-decide to not play a game because they can't ever see past a game company that has wronged them in the past. Or people who completely pull a love scene in a game out of proportion. I myself wouldn't mind at all if those things would help filter the initial group of gamers that would play the game, who knows, it may help form a community that's different from the current crowd that's seen at MMO launches |

What concerns me is the same thing that concerned me with TOR. All Ive seen so far is small group content and story mode solo questing. I would like to see 100 people in 3 faction warfare. Is there a video of that floating around somewhere? |

After years of being a paid customer, I don't tust FC's intentions. These guys would just as soon take a squat in your Corn Flakes and charge you for the additional DLC content . If the conversation turned "Tit-for-Tat", and I've stopped posting, Consider it your win. |

the game is currently in beta for the rest of the month.. it was also in beta months ago. I don't know why you think its not in beta. However there is no way this game will be ready to play in June.

After looking at all the money they are charging you for everything now im 100% sure they know they will fall to F2P like AoC did and are getting ready first hand |

Originally posted by rojo6934 the reason there are 3 character slots is because there are 3 factions. how many characters do want? they will all have the same 588 ability's when it's all said and done. |

Look at how she jumps, move her arms when running, the way other chars swing their weapon : there is no weight, no inertia, no limb counter balance. It's all "interpolate pose A to pose B". Which makes them look like rigid, lifeless dolls. These are not "awfully bad" animations, let's consider some nuance, but globally characters feel lifeless when they are moving. It was the same in AoC. Funcom never put much more effort than that in their animations. It was the same feeling with WAR. But imho it's a mistake, animations look and feel are #1 concern in a mmo, because you're supposed to look at them for monthes and monthes. (and yes it's a E3 2011 video, but 2012 are the same, which reinforces my previous post)
edit : I'm sorry, I don't want to make a bad name of this game, but you asked for explanation, so ... ;-) ***** Before hitting that reply button, please READ the WHOLE thread you're about to post in ***** |

Originally posted by brody71 if thats the reason why they limit an account to 3 character slots then try to sell more then tahts a lame excuse from them to get more money. You wont have 588 skills on screen. You are forced to use 7 active and 7 passive out of 588... I would make at least 2 characters from each factions. 1 from each faction would have mixed skills. and the rest would be focused on 1 specific type of magic / abilities (full blood magic ftw?) they claim to give us freedom but then they want us to stick with only 1 character? i think thats enough reason to have more than 4 slots (hell, limit should be 10). Besides, you are paying for your game + the monthly fees... thats ridiculous IMO unless its a free game. |

Originally posted by k-damage I've gotta agree with you. The animations are quite terrible and like you said, it just looks like the characters are going for one canned animation to the next, without any inertia or flow. Games like WoW and Rift can get away with it because their animations are so fast to even notice it half the time, but TSW's combat looks much slower, giving players more time to pick apart the various animetion nuances.
But IMO the animations aren't the reason I'm concerned about the game. What concerns me is that we are 2 months away from the release and yet it's still hard to find some raw unedited beta footage, of the various features of the game. Heck, even after the recent press beta only articles and 1 video has come about it. One cannot help but think... "what are they trying to hide?" |

Since they are charging money for a 4th, Funcom must believe there is a demand or they wouldn't feel they could get money for it. Which brings me to my next question. While most games are offering 6-10 character slots, where the hell does FC get off thinking they can charge a Boxed Fee, a Sub Fee and open a cash shop (I am 100% certain you will have more slots for purchase here) for this? This is the biggest load of crap yet! If the conversation turned "Tit-for-Tat", and I've stopped posting, Consider it your win. |
