Well It is still in Las Vegas so I still will not be able to go.  I wish they would swap it up, one year east coast one year west coast.  I not been sind 2006 when they had it in atlanta. 

All I know is that I am glad they moved it from October, at least this year I might be able to go if I get good prices on tickets to fly the family. 

I am also glad they moved hotels, I knew several folks who had major issues with their reservations at Ballies.

RPS: SOE’s Player Studio seems like an extension of that to me. Let players make their own new content. How far do you hope to expand that, though? John Smedley: Stay tuned. The answer is yes, wholeheartedly. We have plans for that that go out a long way, and a game that is going to dominate because of that kind of stuff.

It’s not just players making quests. Don’t think of it just as Dungeons & Dragons. What we’re actually building is the ability for players to put in systems. System-level stuff. We give them some rules, some basic simple rules, and they can make things out of whole cloth. They could build their own battlegrounds style of gameplay. That’s what we want. What we have is an amazing infrastructure and ability to let players do new and emerging things.

We want them to… Not make their own fun. We’re going to make our games amazingly fun. We want them to be able to make things we didn’t think of fun. That’s really what it is. I mentioned Hulkageddon, I love that in EVE. That’s just players putting bounties on something. It’s nothing. That’s all it is. But that’s as fun as anything in EVE. More fun if you ask me. It’s amazingly fun.

What you saw in WoW’s Cataclysm could take place because someone cast a spell that is powerful enough to do something major. We want it to be meaningful. And that’s what we’re building. It’s actually what we’ve built, because we’ve got this now. It just isn’t quite at the level where we’re OK [to reveal it to the public]. We have a story that we want to tell for the announcement of it, we want it that you’re seeing every aspect of the gameplay, we’re one aspect short of that until we’re ready to show, so we’re close now.”

Um so far all player studio has been was a way to design items, and have them approved by soe and then sold in the sc store.

I don't know where you are getting your info about eqnext being "free to play" when they haven't even talked about a payment model yet, please DON'T PUT OUT BS STATEMENT with out actual links to back it. 

Smedley has been very pro free to play for a long time now.  Although I am not positive if they have specifically said EQ Next will be free to play, it is certainly reasonable to assume its going to be.  Im holding out hope for the Free to Try or unlock everything with a subscription buisness model, but its probably more likely to expect it to mimic Planetside2..

GJ Nadia. SOE are F2P accolites/apostles so I'd go on a limb and say it is F2P. That also means it's a type of F2P. Seems possibly it will be based on UGC access and market of eg story brick style pve or maps and "rules" for pvp? Interested to see more on their server set up. Almost sounds like mini-servers or instances ala minicraft, star citizen et al.? Just a possibility.

Smedley has been very pro free to play for a long time now.  Although I am not positive if they have specifically said EQ Next will be free to play, it is certainly reasonable to assume its going to be.  Im holding out hope for the Free to Try or unlock everything with a subscription buisness model, but its probably more likely to expect it to mimic Planetside2..

yes it is rather safe to assume that EQN LIKELY will be F2P SOE style - where they let people log in and play alot for free, but gives heavy perks to people who pay 15$/month...and Smed have said that all future MMOs from SOE will be F2P - ofc such things can be changed again....

but to call it a BS statement isnt fair

Its quite possible EQN will have a F2P element. I know just from playing EQ, EQII and Planetside I've dropped a good bit of RLM, which exceeded a standard monthly model. Its possible it will have Paid Member Perks, but people will still drop RLM for game items and additional perks. It should be interesting to hear what's said at this years SOE Live Fanfare. I'm very much looking forward to EQN.

dley: Stay tuned. The answer is yes, wholeheartedly. We have plans for that that go out a long way, and a game that is going to dominate because of that kind of stuff.
It’s not just players making quests. Don’t think of it just as Dungeons & Dragons. What we’re actually building is the ability for players to put in systems. System-level stuff. We give them some rules, some basic simple rules, and they can make things out of whole cloth. They could build their own battlegrounds style of gameplay. That’s what we want. What we have is an amazing infrastructure and ability to let players do new and emerging things.
