Nope, I'm still just a guy on the internet with an opinion that rattles your cage cause its about something you like. Well, too bad. |

Let's stop baiting each other and insulting each other. here are the rules of conduct for those of you who have forgotten: http://www.mmorpg.com/disclaimers.cfm#conduct It's ok to have differences in opinion, it's not ok to insult people. |

Originally posted by itgrowls Ok, that's a lot of questions but I will try to answer what I can :) Tera has seperate servers, pvp and pve, therefore if you chose pve, pvp will not be forced upon you. As a matter of fact, the only ways you can pvp in a pve server is from dueling, Deathmatches, Battlegrounds (delayed till August) and Guild vs Guild (server vs server also in the future.) If you roll in a pvp server you will be killed after level 11 by pvp'ers, many times plus all of the above ways to pvp and if a political leader decides to make their lands Pvp, well then that area you will be forced to fight others. As far as Pve content goes, you get your instances started at level 20, but I must stress...Pve really starts with your first BAM, big Ass monster. These are the elite mobs that are all over the open world that you can solo but usually need a group to be on the safe side. If anything, it is because of BAMs that people get hooked on Tera, it is the best use of their action combat that they have always talked about since the start. There's more pve, a lot more, like Dark Crevices aka Rifts in RIFT, but if I go on, this would be way too long. Your question about duo'ing instances and other Pve content is a big fat yes. the mobs, whether they are elite, named or bosses will never have a guaranteed hit on you, therefore you can dodge all you want, move away from their attacks all you want and effectively two-man them IF you have the time and skills. Currency is funny in Tera. There's so much of it but people still run out because there's so many uses for it. Enchanting, sealing and unsealing, Dye system, reskinning armor, potions, crafting and much more....recently the pet system in Tera was removed, it's not the typical pet system we know, it was more of a Korean private shop kinda thing and they are pretty much have taken that away. But if you like collecting pets, there's a massive amount of horses, panthers and lions you can buy and ride on.

Originally posted by CoolWaters Trust me, I didn't say I didn't believe you in getting a refund, it's your money, you do what you want with it. What is funny to me was that you didn't even bother spelling the name right, it's Tera, with one "r", if you didn't mind spelling the game right, you didn't mind trying the game out anyways. It looks like just an afterthought to you, and consequently seems you were setting yourself up to not liking it. You obviously didn't approach it as something you would probably enjoy from the beggining. But hey, more power to you, some people just won't like Tera. I for one, love it and I am having a blast with my brother and Girlfriend. |

Originally posted by Pesa Ok. Good gor you, your brother and GF. I hated it, but I didn't want to. As for the reason I believed you were calling me a liar, it's because you called me a liar: "Love how some people want to prove that they played a game but in reality they didn't at all....not a good way to hate on Tera, man."
I actually assumed (from my HS Latin and Greek) that En Masse (I did not spell check that FYI) took the name from an actual thing, like an ancient goddess:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terra_(mythology) (maybe she has a copyright filing inprogress from a few thousand years ago?)
Rather than a prefix in the international system of measurements ... which makes a TON of sense.
Anyway, don't Hardy Boys my spelling all that much (or the spelling of the En Masse devs for that matter ...)
My crappy spelling aside (or the developers crappy spelling?) I just think the game isn't even a good stop-gap for GW2. Not for my guild anyway. I wish it were. |

Tera's combat was pretty awsome, a game that will take me a long time to master in pvp and i like it. It has some pretty big issues though. End game voteing i have 0 interest in, just as rl politics it cant be fun for anyone except those that are candidates. It could have been so much better with siege and engaged way more people then the voteing will sadly do. The power difference by only a few levels was hugh, way to high for a pvp game but ktera didt have the same pvp as us so was never an issue there, but it is a hugh issue with our pvp ruleset. I had 28 slayer with lvl 27 green gear and i got 1shot or atleast killed in under a second by a level 32 archer, that made me cry a little on the inside. We did bams as a group of 3 level 24 and a 31 warrior tryd to gank us but for some odd reason we managed to kill him(if that was a range char or slayer we would all have died pretty fast). +/- 2 levels was quite adictive in pvp though. Becouse of this i will suck it up and endure it until endgame. I realy doubt this will be fixed by Enmasse but if they did, it would be a far better pvp game. All in all i liked this game and will play it for a short while atleast, i doubt this game will hold me long term sadly but i will realy enjoy it while it last. I hope to see more action oriented games in the future that will suit me even more. Refreshing mmorpg combat for sure |

Originally posted by itgrowls I really can't see the resistance to subs. It's 10-15$ per month, not hundreds. That's nothing to pay for a quality game(which is the real problem as many games aren't as good or ready as they should be at release). But really, thats too much to pay that it is a big deal? I'd much rather a sub and have everything in game and not nickel and dimed by a CS. (which is another problem as new releases seem to be getting away with having both.) I actually like DDO's way-no pay for game (F2P with restrictions), CS to get restrictions lifted on content/classes + vanity crap, or 10/month sub and get 500pts p/month for CS. Since they went to this model, they have added a ton of content (more than they were with subs only). And sub gets new content w/o extra charge. Even with F2P you could get all content and classes opened for probably $75, and not pay a sub. Very flexible. As for GW2's model (which I am going to play), I just hope they put a lot of effort into it between expansions. |

Was going to quote some people make a long post than I thought why even bother? All the people here pretty much has a set belief on if they like Tera, hate Tera, or neutral. Same thing been said over and over and over and over and over and over..... I feel like a freaken broken tape recorder saying them again go the exact same statement made yesterday last week or a month ago. I wish TSW, GW2, and Archage just be out or at least in CBT like Tera so everyone can gtfo to their respective forum and leave the game forum to people people who want to play the repective games and help exchange ideas to make the game better rather than my opinion is Tera suck or my opinion is Tera is good or w/e. Seriously if you don't like Tera and not going to make any useful contrubition to the game just go post on the forum of the game you want to be part of and help develop. |

yep i like tera for now, lol but who can fortell the future if i might still be playing it after 3mths lol, when i played rift i love it, unfortunately after 6mths i quit even tho i sub for a year lol, same as aoc sub for a year gave up after 9mths. i am still searching for the one mmorpg that will capture my full attention, unfortunately there isnt one, but i do regret the demise of sb, was awesome and nope could match it's gameplay, unfortunately the mmorpg for the present are shallow instance based crap (df is different but it's too hardcore, it's even worst that working, but at least when u work u get paid:p). just my 2 cents of bs:p |

Originally posted by corpuscOriginally posted by Sector13 Ok, let me make sure it's perfectly clear: I'm curious, and just want an answer to ease my confusion. When you state "DOES take real life skills to play" what exactly are you meaning by this? Technically speaking doesn't any mmo you play require some sort of real life skill? Knowing how to use the keyboard to move a character is a skill, regardless of how 'easy' it might be, some people are without this skill, such as those that can't play first person shooters because they don't have this capability of working the controller as well as everyone else. So, being a logical person, I'm just curious as to what skill this game takes that would actually be required in real life, isn't a basic skill that we all use daily even without realizing it, and that most other games don't have in them. Thank you kindly, and by the way, TERA does look pretty kickass, just not sure if I can afford another game subscription, hah! :) |
